No, there's no difference.

But a team might trade for a player to ensure that another team doesn't scoop him up before they can. Might be worth a late round pick.

I don't know why, but this would surprise me.

Does this mean Dorson Boyce is making the team and for at least a short time we are keeping 2 FBs and 3 RBs?

Cut RB Tim Hightower--Grant Paulsen

Some bubble players have been informed that they will make the team:

WR/KR Brandon Banks--Chick Hernandez, CSN Washington
WR Aldrick Robinson--Tarik El-Bashir

Without Cooley it makes sense

Yep, and a good sign too, IMO. The best men are getting the job, and there's enough depth that we are seeing the unseating of vets who just weren't contributing enough relative to their salary.

I agree, but unfortuanately it also looks like they are keeping Jordan Black as the only back up OT. Well at least until they can search the scrap heap to find another OT.

Dorson Boyce may be kept around for a while too.

So while we ar deep at some spots we are still really thin at others. Our nickle back is Credic "I got burnt on every play in preseason" Griffin. Our back up OT was going to open a health spa a month ago.

So while we are fat at some spots we are Ethiopian thin at others!

Surprising about Hightower, but seems par for the course in Shanahan's system.

Which players did we let go that you thought we should have kept?

Thought that too. So cutting Cooley (for the time being) didn't save a roster spot.

You know, I don't really like Smith, Compton or Black, but Black would have been my last choice.

Most likely our back up OT isn’t on the team at this time.

You can't be waived and not released, but you can be released and not waived.

Hightower was released but not waived because he has the vet minimum years of 4 years.

Willie Smith was released/waived because he doesn't have the vet minimum.

I hope not, I liked Slaton out of college but he couldn't make it in Houston so i'm not sure why he'd make it here in the same scheme with a worse o-line than Houston's. If this is the case, i'd much rather have just kept Hightower.

So who gets the better end of that deal if it goes through? AAA has been more productive over the past two years, but Slaton was a beast his rookie season.

Let me couch that statement by this: If AAA was going to be cut anyway then this is reasonable. If they were going to keep him, then this trade would stink if it goes through.

Miami needs AAA more than we need Slaton.
