I know how you love to nitpick things and I was tempted not to respond because most here understand ...
but ... I couldn't resist
so you think we can be
consistently competitive offensively with Grossman and this offense?
The play calling and QB have left a lot to be desired
we are where we are in spite of the offense - we could be 5-0 if the offense had done a better job with the opportunities that the bumbling, stumbling pukes gave us
Fact is - I love the fact that we're 3-1 - we're going to be a consistently better team when we get the offensive issues resolved
For me most unclear question is: Do we think we can get enough offensive issues resolved with Grossman at the QB position to be consistently better this year? I'm of the opinion that he is the obstacle to resolution of these issues, but maybe not.

Good thing all the rest of our games are on Sundays, then.

Man oh man are we ever competitive - we could even go 10-1
this group will continue to surprise and improve
HOWEVER - We will NOT be consistently competitive offensively until we find a really good QB that can help the offense score more points when given the opportunity
this week we will beat the eagles because they are hopeless defensively and cannot fix their linebacker issues and red zone defense
I am looking for this team to be consitently competitive on both offense and defense - that will not happen until we find a way to have a QB that can make plays - maybe next year

I have a feeling that Oshiomogho Atogwe is going to have a mult INT day on Sunday and that laron is going to make a few statement hits. I feel like those two are about ready to explode as a tandem.

I would like to agree but don't expect a big day out of Laron. He will be spying Vick the entire game.

Man... that thing does NOT like Dwane
Last seen heading for Lincoln Financial Field... turns out, Dwane is an Eagles fan...
at least, that's what I told it...

4 losses.
They are a bit wounded. Speaking figuratively they are a desperate wounded animal. This game is a toss-up and we are at home. We should win. We need to remember last year then forget it. We need to be hungry and then play for 4 quarters.
I am concerned about new guys (Kerrigan) rushing under control. I'd like to "hurt" Vick. Nothing maliscious - just see him leave.
23 -17 our way.

Red_One43 wrote:The Eagles aren't wounded anything. They have moved the ball on every team that they played thanks to Vick and McCoy. The Eagles aren't a good "TEAM." But they still have the great talent in some positions to make them dangerous.
They have glaring weaknesses that won't go away this season - O line and Linebackers. They have a new DC that doens't know how to use his stud secondary. Asomugha in zone coverage - get real. Right now, they go as Vick goes. Vick throws interceptions - they lose - not even his 400 yard passing and hundred yard rushing can't save them against his interceptions, because the D can't stop anyone.
I don't think that anyone on the Skins roster is approaching this game as playing a 1-4 team. It is a division rival that can strike from anywhere on the field in quick fashion.
Redskins win because they know their opponent's weaknesses and exploit them. They know what they need to do to contain Vick. Unless, we knock him out of the game (With Dirty 30 in the game that is a possibility), contain him is the best we can hope for and that is good enough (The Bills didn't stop him - he passed for over 400 yards and rushed for nearly 100 (not sure if he went over 100).
They will force Vick to stay in the pocket and force him to throw interceptions. Haslett is teaching them to stay under control when they rush him.
The Cover 2 was a great plan the first game last year, Haslett has something new cooking this game.
On Offense, Good Rex shows up and play for 4 quarters. I will predict that we see Rex's best game as a Skins thus far.
Banks gets it going on the return game.
Redskins 27 - Eagles 20!
Remember The Monday Night Massacre!
The Redksins will and will avenge it!
OK in that sense, you and the other poster are correct, they are wounded. So they are a wounded something, but I was referring to the fact that in all of their losses, nobody stopped their offense. To me, that is not wounded even with the injuries, the O still produced. The key was the turnovers. Some were forced, but a lot were just bad play and bad bounces.
I agree with your concerns. I agree with your prediction. I am no good at scores, so I will take yours in a heartbeat. I believe a better Team with lesser talent can beat a better talented group of players who are disjointed right now. A great game plan is needed and we need the Good Rex all four quarters.

LMAO! I think SJ just got a little confused with the wording. I think he meant.. shoot, I have no clue..
I'm not as confused as I seem - tho - I do make it seem like I am
I'm VERY pleased with the fact that we're 3-1 and could easily be 4-0
am I the only one that thinks we have a QB in Grossman that cannot help the offense & turns the ball over too much?
I think this franchise has come a long way - Offensive CONSISTENCY is not here yet
we are 3-1 - we could go 10-1 but ...
do you really think we can go 12-4 with this QB?
having a
CONSISTENTLY COMPETITIVE PRODUCT is all I'm hoping for
please explain how we get that with Grossman
I'm happy with where we are but we're going to have to wait until 2012 to be good in all facets of the game
I do think we'll be better that most here thought we would but .......

I could not look at this game a couple of weeks ago and think that we should win it
we are most likely going to win this game ..... & look really good doing it - the eagles have too many issues
Grossman needs to be firmly managed by Mike
ANY & ALL 'obvious' passing down should be a hand off to a running back
Haslett needs to make sure his LBs stay at home and watch for the cut back that is sure to come
we just have to be a little careful and rarely, if ever, blitz

Offensively - Torrain & Davis have great games
Defensively - Orakpo, Kerrigan, Landry & Fletcher give the eagles offense problems .. all afternoon

We will hit Vick a few times early in the game. He will unravel quickly. As he goes, so do the Eagles. Thats when the penalties and turnovers will begin.
I hope Fed Ex will be louder than its ever been this week.
pssst! Hey LaRon ,dont start anything pre-game, do your "talkin" between the whistles.

Then, lord willig, he'll make his statement hits on Vick. Was laron the other redskin that knocked him out of game 1 last year with Hall?

I predict that the Redskins won't be slipping and falling down now that they will be playing on natural turf for the first time in three games. The only game we lost was on the astroturf in Dallas.

at least DeAngelo Hall is playing the CB posion better than Carlos Rogers did
Hall has his problems but he's still a positive for our defense
Grossman seems to have a knack for making 'bad' things happen
Grossman is playing better than he did - he still thinks he can 'make' plays and he's just NOT good enough

Don't know how you could possibly say that. Yes, DH has more INTs with the team than CR did, but CR was clearly better in coverage.

Carlos Rogers is having a pro-bowl year so far and, he always was a better fundamental corner than D.Hall. He just had no hands (until now)

Jock referred to the "CB position," meaning the whole position. You narrowed it down to one criterion, "coverage." So the answer to your statement is, "so?" Hall is a better CB. That does not mean he beats Rogers in each area, it means it's better overall. It's not just coverage and INT's either. There is fear to throw to them, which for Hall is very high. That affects throws and it affects throwing to them. And THAT is why Hall is a far better cornerback.

He's also a selfish jock with a bad attitude, the niners can have him.

The Eagles are the (Vegas) favored team going into this weekend. I hope the Skins have prepared like they are going to face a favorite. This is a very important game to win.

Nope, CR beats DH in every category except hands, which makes him the better CB IMO. And no one's ever been afraid to throw at DH, because he's usually two or three steps behind the receiver.

^^ SAY WHAT - NOBODY cares about your evaluation
Hall is better than Rogers - Hall is a Redskin, Rogers is a whiner 49er
