Now, I've had to miss games before, but I usually tape them and watch them later the same day (or maybe not, depending on how the game goes). But this time, though I had set my DVR, I knew it would be Wednesday night before I could watch the game. So, I'm sitting in the conference, looking at the ESPN Gamecast on my iPad (had to pay $25 just to get online).
Then, my client decides to leave the conference early, but asks me to go to the reception afterward for him. I think about it for a minute and then decide to bug out of there and come back for the reception. I grab a cab to the strip and end up at a mexican restaurant that is showing the game, now well into the second quarter.
Just as I sit down, a freak storm rolls through, and there's torrential downpour, blocking the satellite signal.
"Just my luck," I thought. Now I'm stuck at some restaurant, and if this rain keeps up I'll miss the game AND the reception after the conference.
Then, just as quickly as it came through, the storm was gone, and the game was back on.
I got to watch the rest of the game, enjoying a nice cold beverage, and I made it back to the conference to see most of the last panel and head to the reception.
So, all in all, a pretty good day!

I thought about doing something like that, but I was on 3G and would've burned through that pretty quickly. Plus, I had to look at least a little like I was "working"!
I was really thinking more about the fans at FedEx getting 'fueled up' for hours before kick-off
