In my view one of his best games. Very good on run blocking and pretty good on pass protection.

The fact that he isn't being talked about is a good thing

One thing that makes the sack total even more impressive is Rex is not a QB that avoids a lot of sacks with mobility like a Vick or Big Ben. What it means is our O line gave up 5 sacks and only five sacks where other O lines are made to look better with pass protection stats inflated because of the mobility of their QBs.

Funny you talk about Rex not avoiding many sacks then the two names you throw out are guys that are going to go down as two of the most sacked guys in NFL history.

It seems counter intuitive, but mobile QBs are usually some of the most frequently sacked. While statues like P Manning and Dan Marino very seldom take sacks. Some QBs avoid sacks by not taking them.

Now Rex isn't Peyton or Dan, but immobile QBs in general take less sacks than mobile guys.

When a mobile guy scrambles around and avoids a sack everyone notices that he avoided a sack. When a pocket passer stands in the pocket and avoids a sack by getting rid of the ball no one notices that he avoided a sack.

Based on the stats below. In general mobile QBs do get sacked more. Good Point! That was enlightening.

Rex is rated 15th on the career least sacked percent list and Ben and Mike are not even in the top 21st.
I wish that Rex would take more sacks rather than throw INTs, though.

2010 -

Rivers sacked 38 - 6.6%
Palmer 26 - 4.4%
Vick 34 - 8.4%
Rex 9 - 6.3%
Ben 32- 7.4%
Donovan 37- 7.3%
Joe Flacco - 40 - 7.3%. With injuries to the O line this can happen to any QB.
Jay Cutler 52 - 10.7 %- This is an anomaly. Cutler had no time to get rid of the ball. Cutler still made the top 21 in lowest active career sack percent.
