Or maybe not. Whatever. I'll take the "W" any way it comes. :)

I wonder how Carter is handling the demotion? Hopefully, we haven't alienated a guy that I always thought bled the B & G. I'm sure it had to happen, looking like he does in open space...but does it make him better or more expendable?

Carter played a good amount as a DE today. I dont think that he was demoted so much as he was used differently today.

Um, he had two false starts PLUS the holding penalty that likely cost us a td. Instead of 1st and goal from the 3 his holding penalty backed us up to the 13. We had to kick a fg as a result. 3 penalties on one offensive linemen is inexcusable. Making a good block on Torain's td run doesn't excuse the garbage play that we've consistently seen from him.

Dude, he's playing left tackle, one of the toughest positions in football. I can forgive the false starts, playing on the road. I'm sure the crowd is noisy, especially down near the endzone. And one holding penalty is NOT inexcusable. Get real! Would you rather he gave up a blindside hit on our QB? Yes, the penalties seem to come at bad times, but he still had a good game, and if you actually watched him play you would see that.

I have to agree with Canes on this one, Heyer was awful. One or two penalties a game is understandable.

Betts back on the roster??? huh? Why? That dude has never complimented Portis, and did you watch him today in the Saints game? The guy is not good.

I don't think Portis is that good, and he's certainly not a good fit for our O-line. Betts was actually a better fit for our line. I think Torain is better than Tortus.

I think by the end of the year, Torain will be the starter. Not that that means much because they are splitting carries at this point

i also think torain will be starting. i picked him up off waivers in my fantasy league. CP is teaching him the finer points of being an elite back. in a couple weeks we will see an explosion from torain.

Can't say that I agree. Before he hurt his ankle CP was playing better imo. CP was averaging 5.5 ypc today, compared to Torain's 3.9. Torain has done a decent job so far, but CP is the better runner and blocker.

CP sucks unless he's running completely untouched. He's the worst tough runner I've ever seen. If a player brushes against him, he goes down. He is a good blocker though, but we need a back who can run into and knock a linebacker or a safety on his a$$ and keep going. That isn't CP, but it is Torain.

Yeah, well Canes is just upset because Heyer helped to spoil his hognostitraitor pick. What's your excuse?

Unless, of course, it's on the back side of a running play going away from him...

True.
I still contend he had a good game yesterday, and doesn't deserve the crap he is getting in this thread. I'm not saying he's always played well, but he did yesterday, and some folks just can't get past their preconceived notions about certain players.

Can we just settle this and say that Heyer is a back up at best and should not be starting?

Heyer is trying the best he can but he's not a good LT and he's not really even a good back-up LT

the worst thing is he's the best choice we have to play LT - we all know this - the guys in charge will be making a lot of changes here, thankfully

hopefully Trent is playing soon and is able to stay healthy for the rest of the year

We need Trent Williams back BAD. I can't believe Will Robinson or Selvish Capers can be worse than him. Just can't.

The "him" in your second sentence seems to refer to Williams.

we are not as bad as what we saw against the Rams - that was a total disaster from all facets - we might not be very good but we are going through some big changes here from the havoc that was brought upon us by dumb and dumber

we are not going to get younger very quickly and we are not going to be able to replace all of the offensive line overnight like we need to - we have begun the process and we now have NFL people in charge and managing things

enjoy the ride - we are rebuilding our franchise

we started off the new era with a win against the pukes - how great is that - and now we are 2-0 in our division - we are not a good team by any stretch but we are not as bad as some think either

A man once said "just win baby".

The "W" is all that counts. I loved the effort our team put forth. Especially on defense. It was our defense that came through on this one. Alot more coverage and I liked that. Long slow drives by the opposing offense rather then quick strike scores.

Yes our offense is a work in progress. The huge positive is we have a leader at the QB position. A leader who is poised and not likely to throw the game away. The weakness at the WR position is glaring. We need a true no. 1. Santana Moss would be great in the slot. Like Wes Welker.

Also it was nice to see the running game get going. All in all a good day to be a Skin.

That's pretty much where I'm at this season. I came in with no expectations other than 8-8 at best. I don't expect us to win any games so when we do, I'm cool with it.

I love where we are going as a team and know this is a traditional year; a rebuilding year.

We may win, but we've certainly got nothing to brag about...yet.

I haven't read all the posts but....would the Skins have LOST if Vick remained in the game???

This seems to be the talk amongst all the "pundits"....and you know how I feel about pundits.

We were up 14-3 against Vick. and lost 3-9 against Kolb. That's my opinion

I got the feeling that the defense was so prepared for Vick's style of offense that when Kolb came in it kinda threw them off a little. The defense played better holding them to 12 points, but honestly stupidity and penalties held them to 12 more than the defense did. On the offensive side, Cooley and Moss have to be the targets on passing plays, unless the Eagles were tightly covering them the whole game. Moss had NO, NONE, ZIP, ZERO catches yesterday, our #1 WR and he has no catches for an entire game is not good. Armstrong looked good, if he had not taken himself out of bounds on the first catch he would have scored. I'm glad for the win and would never complain about 2-0 in the division, but erase a Dallas holding penalty and the Eagle WR not drop that last pass (watch the replay, it was in his hands, he caught and dropped it into D Hall's hands) and we are 0-4. This team needs to play every snap like the first 3 drives yesterday and they could put up some serious points. Last and certainly not least PLEASE PLAY SUNDAY TRENT WILLIAMS!! If I hear one more "Holding #74 Offense or False Start #74 Offense" I'm gonna shoot something. Heyer has to go! He killed that third drive at 1 and goal at the 3, that left us with 17 instead of 21. I checked the penalties from the game, 3 offensive penalties for the game 1 holding by #74 and 2 false starts #74. Remove Heyer from the game and the offense had no penalties for the game. Happy to be 2-2 and #1 in the East, but the next 3 weeks are gonna be tough. HAIL REDSKINS!!!

Sorry, I will take your advice and switch to Mikes Hard Lemonade during games. That way when I come to a Redskins, post-game message board, I can ensure that my grammar, syntax, and other writing skills are sharpened to your satisfaction.

BTW - I find it hilarious yet unsurprising that Deadskins needed to "EDIT" his douchey post correcting my grammar. Apparently he couldn't even get his insult right the first time.
