Redskins Making Progress in Deal for Vincent Jackson?

Here's the issue that AJ has:

To get the guy in a trade, other teams need to give up the world.

To pay VJ - he wants to give him inadequate pay.

Doesn't make a lot of sense. No one is going to over pay in a trade while you try to underpay him on a contract extension.

There's some strange decision making going on in San Diego. It's not like Jackson is the only player on that team holding out either. Their starting left tackle, Marcus McNeil, is also holding out.

that's the vibe I get from reading some stuff on this, it seems AJ Smith set his asking price as firm, 2nd and a 3rd. He won't budge on that, then if he doesn't get that he will pay league min to Vjax, who he thinks is worth a 2nd and a 3rd. LoL, Man talk about grudges hahaha I feel kinda bad for thge chargers, the team is the one that's ultimately paying the price.

Ever since the Lions let Barry Sanders retire rather then taking what they could get or just having the decency to let him go after filling the stadium for 10 years w/o a complaint despite how entitled he was to complain, I'll believe anything. Then again, it isn't the Lions so maybe you're right.

I think the price of a 2nd rounder + more is too steep. With the improved offensive scheme and player evaluation the two Shanahans and Allen bring, we can draft our own Vincent Jackson (like Shanahan did with Brandon Marshall) in the 2nd or later rounds. The QB, O-line and passing system are 60% of what makes a good WR anyway. That is why Moss and Galloway look decent this year. We need to be patient. Giving up 2nd rounders for players like VJ is not the way to do things.

OT Marcus McNeill signed his one-year, $630,000 tender. He will miss next 3 games, then be eligible to play against Patriots next month.
