Frank - the fact remains that after all is said and done, Campbell is not a QB that is going to give his team a better chance at winning the game
and to anyone that wants to point to the game last Sunday or any game that Campbell had some success, I would only ask how good was the defense that was on the field that day - the Saints defense that we played against was not the same defense that has played well all year - I know that Campbell overcame a lot of bad things during the game but a good NFL QB finds a way to win and Campbell needs a lot of help from others to even have a chance
I am not sure whether he will be here or not but I do hope that if he's with another team that we get something for him

Every QB in the league, including Peyton, Brady, and Brees, needs a lot of help from others to win anything. And no, good QB's do not always find ways to win. In fact, they often lose, especially if their support is weak to nonexistant. Your beliefs are in the realm of myths and have the flavor of logical fallacies. Brady is a great quarterback because he wins. Because he wins he's a great quarterback. Jason is a bad quarterback because he loses. Because he loses he is a bad quarterback (no matter how well he plays). It's hard to listen to such drivel.
Here's the truth. Jason is the 15th ranked quarterback in the NFL, which ranks the top 30. That puts him in the middle on a team that ranks 27th on protecting the passer and has one of the least feared receiving corps in the league. Here's what that should tell you: Jason is well above average in the NFL. If protected, we'll win. If not protected, we'll lose. If protected and augmented by fine receivers (which seem to be developing), we'll win big, unless the D collapses.
Here's my prediction: If we snag Okung in the draft and a center in the second round, then pick up quality OL as FA's, Jason will be one of the leading QB's in the league next year and we'll have a good record and a legit shot at the playoffs.

Except when he's under pressure, he folds. Consistantly.

psst crazy, Ive got some info for you

- I am not saying and have never mean't to imply that Campbell is a bad QB - I actually think he's a good QB
Campbell is a good QB, he's just not good enough
some here don't like him and some think he's a lot better than we've seen so far - I have nothing against him, he's just not good enough
NOW - I do hope that he ends up this season playing very well so that the team will be better off next year:
a) we get a draft pick or a player from another team
b) we have him play here next year until we can find a QB that can make a difference

so, let me get this straight, we draft Okung (that looks possible right now) and then pick up a center in the 2nd (a good quality center should be available) and then we add a couple of FA linemen and "presto changeo" Campbell will become a winning QB
what makes you think that Cerrato and Snyder are suddenly going to become great at finding players that make each other better AND that can elevate Campbell's game - now I know where the 'crazy' comes from
please do not issue caveats - you made the prediction
here's my prediction - Campbell could very well be here next year and we could get to see a much better offensive line playing here next year and even a really good offensive line the next year BUT I will predict that Campbell is not going to be the starting QB for the Redskins for much longer. Not because he's not a good QB, he is, but because he's not good enough
we need a winning QB and he's not good enough
