i'm just waiting for us to trade a 1st round pick for brady quinn...that would be hilarious.
orakpo only makes plays at DE, so why is he in pass coverage?
Has anyone on this site seen jason campbell just take a three or five step drop and just freakin pass it without double clutching, scrambling out of the pocket or getting sacked?

Can't win in the NFL when you score less than 3 touchdaowns every game.

It would be nice to see an open receiver catch a pass once in a while.

Its scary to see where the team is without Samuels. Heyer needs to be replaced ASAP.
Waiting for someone to blame this on Campbell...
No. It wasn't JC's fault, but I don't recall him making any plays either. Though, that was a nice pass to Thomas.
This game definitely falls on the head of Westbrook. Just because it seems like a stupid rule, doesn't mean that we shouldn't be prepared for it.
There's a reason why it took this guy so long to get off the practice squad. He sucks and will never make up for this bonehead move.
He sucks because he got grabbed and shoved into our punt returner?? How does that make sense???
As Bmitch said after the game, as a defender, you must be 5 yards away from your returner. Plain and simple. You need to look, watch the field and always know where you are in terms of the ball.

Alright, here is my thoughts put through this computer screen.
I am a 47 year old male who has been a 'Skins fan since I was 6 years old.
Do the math....for the first time I am not at all surprised nor ready to eat my gun over this loss. This is NOT A GOOD TEAM fellas!!
There are way too many problems with this team that most of the posters here have pointed out. We do not need to rehash them.
Fire Zorn.....find a new QB...Upgrade the OL......get rid of Cerrato...
Does it not get tiresome to continually bash
the same over and over????
I for one, not proud to say it, but I will, fully expect this team to further implode as the season wears on.
This team has no, let me clear, NONE! ZERO! heart or leadership.
Until that changes, get used to the mediocrity you have seen.

The first thing you have to do is get a GM. Then, let the GM bring in a Coach or keep the same. I don't care but I would feel better if I knew that we had someone competent running the franchise. I don't want a coach who is also the GM. I want the coach to coach and the GM to manage. That's it.

I am in Europe and could not watch but the record is still 2-3 - we are not a bad team but we are a team that has not lived up to our expectations - the main reason is that this group of players and coaches was not given much of a chance at success because the guys in charge have no idea of what they are doing
each week, fans here point to this or that but the real issue here is that we do not have a group in charge that can ensure we are deep enough to be able to overcome the challenges brought by the opposing team each week - we keep hoping for the best from a group of players that have been selected by guys with no idea of whether the team will be better or not by adding them to the mix
we do not need the best coach or QB in the world we just need a group of players that will make each other better and someone who knows what they are doing on the sidelines and in the position of GM
next week we hope to be 3-3 but nothing really changes if we are 2-4

I'm also hoping for a new GM. The new GM would only help if he has the power to lock out Snyder - which probably won't happen. Schottenheimer did that, went 8-3 in his last 11, and was fired because Snyder wasn't having enough fun. Winning isn't what he really wants, he wants to play with his toy.

Even if, and that is a big IF, "The Boy King" decides to get a real GM, and stop playing with his toy, there are so many needs on this team that it is going to take a looonnngggg time to return to respectability, much less dominance.

Agreed. Look at what Denver is doing with Orton. Denver widely regarded as having the best young bookend tackles in the league.

If I were playing the GM game I would spend EVERY pick on O Line and extend Campbell for a year. Count next yr as a loss too but let your new Lineman gel next yr together. Than you start building from there. Until this team has an O Line, you could throw Joe Montana in his prime back there and he'd have no shot!

i agree. we have a "premier" running back in clinton portis... who can't get 100 yards to save his life... yet the giants have their #3 back from last year (and #2 this year) bradshaw, easily run for over 100 yards and 2 TDs today. we need an OLINE.

Problems everywhere, it's like owning an old car... You have tons of good memories, but everything in it is falling apart, you just put a new engine in it and it still sputters... TRADE IT IN FOR CASH FOR CLUNKERS!!! Dagnabbit we need an O line.

I didn't know until reading this thread that pushing a gunner cover-man into the punt returner isn't illegal. So it looks like the refs got the right call, and the fault does lie with Westbrook, but still . . . what an oversight in the rules.

Observations.....
1. Zorn is way over his head.. His play-calling is predictable.... And this so-called QB guru has done nothing with this QB... To challenge the spot at that point was futile and the Ref in charge bailed him out and had him put the red hanky back in his pocket.
2. Brian Orakpo proved once again that he belongs with his knuckles on the ground. Beat by a 2nd rate TE for a touchdown and got a sack from being on his knuckles where he belongs. I'd rather have him rushing the QB like he supposed to any day as opposed to trying to learn to be a LB...
3. Deangelo Hall proved he was not worth all of the money paid to him. Yes he had a pick but it was tipped to him. But on the crucial third down, he let a slow QB beat him to the corner for the first down. Instead of going for his legs, he tries to wrestle the taller Delhomme from the top thus giving up a crucial first down that ended the game.
4. Jason has now become his own worst enemy by being to passive and trying to be "perfect" for Zorn. On that third and short, he has Moss one on one with a CB in press coverage. If he doesn't have a look or nod for Santana to go long and make that change to take that shot, shame on him. Shame on him for not recognizing that one-on-one coverage and calling out of it. Shame on Jason for trying to become the QB that Zorn wants him to be, a smaller, less lanky QB with no arm....
5. Clinton Portis does not have "it" anymore. How many times are you going to keep running into piles and not look to cut back when the original hole is closed. Clinton Portis is a serviceable back that needs space to run straight ahead.
6. This "electric football"-everybody-has-to-be-in-the-perfect-spot ain't working no more. Let the athletic talent on this defense play. Make Orakpo an everyday starter next to Haynesworth and make Wilson the "linebacker project"... I will say it again, Orakpo will only get better if you line him up next to Albert because Albert commands alot of double-teams leaving the DE next to him in one-on-one situations with the tackle. He will learn how to beat the best tackles just like Tuck, Umenyora, Jared Allen, Freeney & Mathis, Suggs, etc. have...
7. The ownership and front office of this organization has not a clue at all. And because of that, the only way success will come to organization is if Snyder drops his ego, get "football" people in the run the show and he focuses on marketing this franchise. Something that he is good at. Keep Vinnie as your racquetball partner only and let a real GM pick the coaches and players.

Should this surprise any of us? Delete the Gibbs years (his two playoff runs look Gibbsean now don't they) and we're right back to the lineage of Spurrier-Zorn.
Only way this changes is with a new FO and new coaching staff - meaning a coach with total authority who can without hesitation overule D an V.
Who hired Spurrier and Zorn - there is the problem.

There was a similar statement made on NFLN during their post game coverage. It was said that if you can score 20, that you'll beat the Redskins every time.
They also mentioned that Campbell has ALL of the physical tools, just not the leadership qualities necessary to succeed, bad and slow decisions as examples.

I feel bad for you making deployments for our sinister government and their new world order agenda. You guys deserve so much better. This loss, along with ALL of the others hang directly on Snyder and Cerrato's heads. They know NOTHING about football or building a championship team. They are cancerous and always will be. Haynesworth and Hall were a waste of over $100 million dollars. Our offensive line was a problem last season so what did they do? Added millions of dollars of waste to our pathetic defense. Until Snyder and Cerrato are gone, this team will suck and suck bad. Wanna make your voices heard? Want to tell top management what you think of their assnine decisions? Stop going to their games. Empty seats at Fed Ex is the ONLY way to make your voices heard. Why would ANYONE pay $75+ tO see this worthless BS?????
Exactly! Do your part and boycott this pathetic excuse for a football team.

Like I said a couple of weeks ago, the ticket buying fans need to boycott this team by NOT GOING TO THE GAMES. Do it long enough and we could force Snyder to walk the plank. He IS a cancer and this team will suck until he's no longer the owner.
