where do your stats have us ranked with regard to points?

20th in passing
23rd in rushing.....thank goodness for our punter

How does that get us to 29th in the league in scoring/ppg????

http://espn.go.com/nfl/statistics/team/ ... ntsPerGame

it takes into account many teams tied with the same (low) number of tds

OK, but we are still 29th in scoring.

yep need to score more ..........but.......other than the scoring stats, Jason Campbell (or soup as teamates at auburn called him) is statistically having a pretty good season as our qb even though he has not thrown alot of tds yet

Our team is 29th not Jason Campbell and everyone seem's to put the total blame on him soley. Where is the blame on the o line? Where is the blame on CP? They do play a part in this offense.

and soups thrown as many tuchdowns as tom brady, phillip rivers, and ben rothlesburger so far this season........and 1 less than kurt warner.....but he sucks apparently..and is the reason we are 1-2

the only name in there that people on here will care about is Roethlisberger, because for some reason, everyone on this board think he's the second coming. Ben does this, Ben does that, bla bla bla. He's average, but I never have anyone that agrees with me on that argument. Its because he has rings. But he rode his d to get them, so I don't know why he's considered great.

When Campbell makes a drive like Ben did in the waning moments of a Super Bowl he'll get the same credit that Ben does. Ben has absolutely awesome pocket presence and make something out of nothing magic as well.

 at comparing Campbell to the rest of the mentioned QB's.

If JC plays anothr 10 years, there will still be excuses for him, he will still be improving, the Redskins will still be terrible and JC will retire as the most excused, bad QB in NFL history.

The difference is that those qb's have a history of success in the NFL, JC does not. It's more of the same from JC.

I also did not hear Boomer either. I did read the posts about what Harrison said. But I don't agree.

On NFL Radio on Sirius Radio today - Tim Ryan (who called last weeks game) and Pat Kirwin (former NFL GM and Coach) said that Jason is not getting help from the other players on the team and that the fanbase is crucifying him for no reason. They did say that he, along with the rest of the team needs to get more production in the Red Zone. If they can do that, then our record wouldn't be 1-2.

Marty Schottenheimer said today as well that JC is a good QB and has the ability to be very good QB in this league.

We don't have to agree but I'm not going to say that JC is the reason this team is not winning. I've played enough football and watched even more in my life to know that he can not single handidly win every week. He needs help from the other guys.

Esiason blasted JC for our struggles on 3rd downs and in scoring. He said that Collins needs to be given a shot.

Sonny and Sam literally went ballistic during the game because JC was not seeing receivers that were wide open down down the field. In typical JC fashion he was slow with his reads/progressions. I trust Sonny more than the national media since he sees Jason play every week.

Again, I don't know b/c on my TV view, I could only see what the tv was showing and what the broadcasters were saying. I also read the newspapers there and that's not what they are saying.

I'll trust Sonny and Sam over a newspaper writer any day. I doubt that a Hall of Fame qb would be wrong about something like that.

Stop playing around with stats and just get real.

JC has not played that great these three games. Nothing new with that.

I don't think anyone here is saying that he is playing GREAT but I think that some of us feel that he is playing well enough for us to win. The overall team is not - and he's a part of that team. I wouldn't mind seeing him get fired up at the lineman but we may not know the whole story like the guys really injured but better than our backups. Who knows.

Fair enough. But right now I would expect the QB to really take the team on his shoulders and make something happen.

JC has not shown he can do it. There's always hope, though.

That's one drive. Roethlisberger sucks horribly for whole games while his defense allows six points, then he finally gets a magic td in the last 2 minutes. There has NEVER been a more overrated player than Ben Roethlisberger. He is average. And I know people don't agree with me, I don't care because I'm right. The stats are right. He's average.

C'mon...really. How many other QBs in the last TWO years have done well out of the gate as ROOKIES? Campbell still can't do it as a 5th year player...wake up!!!!!!!!!

Other than the center, JC is the ONLY player to touch the ball on EVERY play. He is the creator of the offense, he is the leader of the offense, and he sets the tone of the offense.

He is the QB. He RUNS the offense. All offenses live and die by their QB (with the only exception of the Vikings -- but who won them their game last week).

We had a top 5 defense last year. Could JC even "ride" that to the playoffs??? NO, we went 8-8 and JC and his potent offense averaged 11 points per game.

But yeah, just because JC averages the same amount of TDs as those three means absolutley nothing. If they had played the Rams and Lions back to back, all three would have lite it up. JC --- not so much.

And how are they doing in the red zone?? Yeah, a little better than JC is.

Jason is the best QB on the team and that is pretty much all that matters. He will be playing somewhere else next year while this train wreck rebuilds (again) with a new QB and coach. I hope he goes someplace and is successful because I worry that The Danny and his puppet may have ruined him.
