And yeah Riggins was running behind the best o-line in the league. Not sure where they were when Riggins was plowing over Don McNeal in Super Bowl XVII.

John Riggins has earned the right to whatever opinions he wants to express. Portis can tell us all how wrong Riggins is after he wins a super bowl.

Riggo didn't win a super bowl by himself, so that arguement in not valid. Timmy Smith has a Superbowl, is he better than CP too? Seems to me that Portis can "tell us how wrong Riggins is" after CP passes his rushing record. JMO

I never said that Riggo was better than Portis. It has nothing to do with it either way. You're just making up your own argument.

I said Riggins has won a Super Bowl for the Washington Redskins (and was instrumental in doing it) and so has earned the right to his opinion. Portis is a great player and I'm glad we have him. But he has a long way to go to prove he is half the Redskins that John Riggins still is.

Five years from now, take a look around and see how many Portis jerseys are still in the stands at FedEx. Want to bet you'll see more #44s?

Timmy Smith was instrumental with his 204 yards in the Super Bowl as well. Was he also better than Portis? And by that measure, Barry Sanders never won a Super Bowl, so I guess Timmy Smith was better than both Barry Sanders and Clinton Portis.

...and in five years, we still have a good chance of having CP on our team...

hahahaha... Vet that's funny as heck..!!!

Yeah it would be really funny if I ever said that Riggins was BETTER than Clinton Portis. You see that quote above where I wrote: "I never said that Riggo was better than Portis." Guess you were too busy being hilarious and missed that part of my post. You know. The first sentence.

btw If you've ever listened to Riggins and his criticism of Portis, he's never said that Portis isn't a good RB. Or that Riggins thinks he was a better RB than Portis. What he's usually saying about Portis is that he talks too much for a guy on a perpetually 8-8 team. You could say that about alot of Redskins over the years. LaVar Arrington?

Anyway, I don't know or care what record Clinton Portis is about to break. His team has been mediocre for the past twenty years. Start winning playoff games on a regular basis, then you can tell John Riggins and the rest of your critics to shove it. Maybe fans will be wearing your jersey twenty years from now too.

If CP is less than half than Riggins, how then do you deny the insinuation of Riggins being better than CP?
