Who?
. . .Cerrato. Remember when they officially recognized him as GM this past year?

I am hoping for Oline or DLine help. If Vinny and Danny haven't learned that having a successful team starts in the trenches, well, they are delusional.

I was under the impression he has been with us for quite a few years with his hand deep into the "player personnel" cookie jar

I guess what I am questioning is the the sentiment he has only been on the job for one year.

OK boys and girls, time to put up or shut up.
And the first pick of the Washington Redskins goes to ...
Post your prediction if you have not done so already.
I am still praying for a good Draft.

My prediction? I predict they trade up and get Sanchez with pick #8. They just seem like they're foaming at the mouth.
If they stay at #13 I say Oher

I am just hoping for 2 things - that we do not trade any future draft picks and that the guys who have been evaluating the college ranks can make some picks today that will be helpful to this team.
To be specific there are a few I like (and I hope that one of the top offensive linemen is there at #13) but I would not mind getting the USC linebacker - this guy has a motor and will be a great player for many years.

I just completed a list of priorities assuming two things: First, Skins keep 13th pick. Second, all of these players are available. As they become unavailable, we simply move down the list....
1. Andre Smith
2. Michael Oher
3. Brian Cushing
4. Aaron Maybin
5. Tyson Jackson
6. Rey Maualuga
7. Robert Ayers
8. Everette Brown
9. Clay Matthews (definite stretch)
127. Mark "Dirty" Sanchez (only kidding)
THOUGHTS???

Nice list. If it was me though I would move Rey to number 3. I think he is someone to build around.

So this thing is starting at 4:00 right? any idea what time the Skins will be picking? Did they start it this late last year?

Rey Mauluga doesn't seem like an impact player at all to me. There was talk about him not even being an every down player in the NFL.
First of all he's an inside linebacker and here's some of his scouting report from scouts inc.
"He was arrested in November of 2005 for suspicion of misdemeanor battery following a fight he was involved in during a Halloween party. He turned himself into authorities and agreed to attend anger management and Alcoholics Anonymous meetings, as well as perform community service. Father died of brain cancer two days prior to 2006 Rose Bowl. Maualuga was also disciplined for his involvement in an incident at a fraternity party in October of 2006. Was demoted to special teams versus Oregon State that season after he overslept a meeting."
"Durability is a somewhat of a concern. Did not start versus Notre Dame in 2006 because of a left wrist injury. He sustained hip pointer versus Arizona State in 2007, which limited him versus Notre Dame. Entered the 2008 season with a broken finger. He missed the Oregon contest in 2008 after spraining his right knee the week prior against Oregon State. He also pulled up with a hamstring injury during his first attempt at the 40-yard dash at the Combine."

I don't know why they start the draft so late. I'd start at noon or 1 if it was me.

DO NOT CARE.
I want my Mike to have a bad attitude... and, in a few years, he would be our Mike.

The draft starts at 4pm and each pick is 10 minutes, so assuming we say at #13 it should be roughly 5:50 since the first pick is already signed.

Don't know about if any of these things are right or wrong but its a good point for someone that could be a role model for our kids.

The closer this gets to the draft without our actually losing that #13 pick the more encouraged I am that we will use that pick - almost all of the possibilities will help this team - we really need to use the pick and hope that a couple of the others work out as well.
We are not going to be a very good team this year but we will be a better team if we use all of this year's draft and somehow manage to keep our top 3 picks for next year which by my calculations is going to be quite possibly 3 picks of the top 75.
I know we are good on defense but if the best player available is a defensive guy that is who we should take and I like the fact that Malaulaga is not that highly ranked - he looks like a future great MLB

God gracious!
I did A LOT worse than picking a few fights and drank a little

in University and still ended up fine in sports, academics and professional life!
Is this the WORST they can say about Maualuga? I'll take him in the 1st round for the Skins!
