I think they were fishing for evidence... and that it's most likely that none will be found. If it occurred, it was between the Danny and Albert's agent... both of whom would find it in their best interest to have been discussing the future of a certain second year wide receiver...
Nothing happening here... might as well move along...

I'm pretty sure that they officially filed a complaint yesterday. The story kind of got lost with all the Cutler stuff.
According to
ESPN yesterday:
The Tennessee Titans have asked the NFL to consider tampering charges against the Washington Redskins in the signing of free agent defensive tackle Albert Haynesworth, The (Nashville) Tennessean reported, citing unnamed sources familiar with the situation.
According to the report, the Titans did not file a formal grievance with the NFL over the Redskins' quick agreement with Haynesworth, which was reached just hours after the league's free-agent period began. Instead, the team provided the league with newspaper articles and audio from a Washington, D.C.-area radio station -- evidence the Titans say implies Washington had improper contact with Haynesworth before free agency began at 12 a.m. on Feb. 27.
Fishing expedition.

That's a pretty ridiculous standard. The reason why there are juries, judges, arbitrators, etc. is to determine if there is enough evidence to prove an allegation. Most of the time in a trial it is a very thin line in terms of there being enough evidence to prove something. Often it boils down to who can make the better argument about a particular piece of evidence. Unless a claim is clearly frivolous I don't see how you could punish someone.
What about what JF said makes you think he wasn't referring to frivolous suits?
You have to get an indictment from a grand jury before going to trial. You have to be able to prove to the grand jury that you have enough evidence to warrant a trial.
Obviously, as has been previously reported in this thread, this is not a criminal matter, but the same type of thing should be warrented here. If you are making a valid claim of tampering, then you should be able to do so with enough evidence to prove that the claim is warrented. If you have evidence that points to the possibility of tampering, an investigation is done and the team you accused is found not to be liable, then I say fair game. If you come to the commissioner saying Player X made a vague statement that could be interpretted to mean tampering without any other basis for your claim, then you should be held responsible for that.

A little SOUR GRAPES and maybe sme preliminary tampering. I think it goes on with most teams. Let's be honest the Titans had a chance to match, and they made it know that their number one priority was Kerry Collins.

Yes, please!! 'Common citizens' like yourself should be limited to serving the greatest country in the world and volunteering their free time to serve as staff on a football website. It's because of you 'common citizens' that we wound up in the Revolutionary War! What are we gonna
do with you, man?
Oh, no answer? Just a blush and an, "Awww, shucks..." ? It's a fact that, every time one a you 'common citizens' gets a wild hair up their (saving my Bru a little trouble here) tuchus, we end up with some complicated piece of paper like the Bill of Rights or the Constitution.
See??
That's why we need MORE LAWYERS!!!!

I understand the NFL has now expanded the "investigation" into tampering with Haynesworth to include other teams as well as the Redskins
