If we can't get Cutler for JC and a 2nd day pick, I don't want him. We have too many holes to fill to be giving away our 13th overall pick. We could upgrade from JC, but not at that extreme expense.

is JC himself coming onto this site and posting under different aliases??? seriously, if you think JC is better than Cutler, well, then you can follow JC to Denver if that is where he goes...

and all this talk about class, what does class have to do with talent??? when did class alone get you into the Hall of Fame??? look at the guys who some consider have no class... TO, certainly produces on the field, a different story off the field... look at ST in his early days, people all around the league said he had no class (we as redskins fans knew him different), however, he was a hell of a football player, and produced on the field... when class wins you the SB, let me know...

i would trade JC and our 1st round pick, or if you have to involve several teams and it ends up being JC and a 2nd round pick, then so be it... I would hate to trade Cooley, imagine him with a pro bowl QB... it will give this team hope... i have the same feelings in certain situations when it comes to JC and Suisham... at 40+ yards out, i feel it is 50/50 for Suisham to make it... when it comes to a 20+ yard pass, i feel it is 50/50 that the pass from JC will be accurate enough for a WR to catch... JC had 13 TD's all of last season, 13 TD's, Cutler probably had that in is first 6 games... also, who cares that he only had 6 INT, that is because most of his passes are short passes, and the long balls he does throw, no one is close enough to catch them...

Really? Cutler throws more TDs, but also throws a LOT more INTs. Not exactly the hall-mark of good decision making.

Cutler is also a loser of a person.

March 17 Cutler asks the Broncos to trade him.

Broncos quarterback Jay Cutler said Sunday night he has formally asked Denver to trade him and confirmed that a Saturday meeting with first-year coach Josh McDaniels ended badly from his perspective, while McDaniels offered another viewpoint on Sunday night.

"I went in there with every intention of solving the issue, being a Bronco, moving forward as a Bronco," Cutler said. "We weren't in there but about 20 minutes, [McDaniels] did most of the talking and as far as I'm concerned, he made it clear he wants his own guy. He admitted he wanted Matt Cassel because he said he has raised him up from the ground as a quarterback. He said he wasn't sorry about it. He made it clear that he could still entertain trading me because, as he put it, he'll do whatever he feels is in the best interest of the organization.

"At the end of the meeting, he wasn't like, 'Jay, I want you as our quarterback, you're our guy.' It felt like the opposite. He basically said that I needed to tell him if we can't work this out, to let him know," Cutler added. "I thought he was antagonizing me and that was disappointing because I was ready to move on, committed as a Bronco. Really, I figured we'd hash things out, shake hands, laugh a little and move forward. What happened [Saturday] was the last thing I expected. If I didn't think it could be fixed, I never would have come back to Denver. It was painfully obvious to me and Bus [Cook, his agent] it's not something they want to fix."

Consequently, Cutler instructed Cook, who also attended the meeting, to formally request a trade. The quarterback said he left town late Sunday and would skip McDaniels' first (nonmandatory) team meeting Monday as the Broncos begin their offseason program.

"The Denver Broncos confirm that Jay Cutler has requested a trade," team spokesman Jim Saccomano told The Associated Press on Monday.

But wait!

Last night, he said he never asked to be traded!

Last night:

Cutler spoke exclusively Wednesday night with FOXSports.com's Jay Glazer at the UFC Fight Night 18 card in Nashville that both were attending. Cutler says he was shocked the Broncos issued a statement proclaiming he was on the block after conversations with agent Bus Cook.

"I was surprised they decided to trade me this soon," Cutler told Glazer in his first comments since the statement was released. "I didn't want to get traded. This wasn't me. (The Broncos) had been going back and forth saying things, wanting me to be their quarterback and then they didn't."

"I really didn't want this. I love Denver. I really like my teammates. I didn't want it to get this far."

I don't want a guy like this leading my team. Period. He's a baby and a liar.

Is he a better QB than Campbell? Yeah, I'd say so. But he's a zero as a human being.

NOT ON MY TEAM.

Just remember, all these "rumors" that every sports network and outlet is currently throwing around came directly from the Washington Post and Jason La Confora. I don't know if it's true or not, but you have to wonder.

My thought is this... if true, who at Redskins Park is leaking this information? And why would they leak it to JLC, of all people? They would have to know that if they were, in fact, trying to get Cutler, there is no guarantee and leaked information could upset and alienate Campbell if the trade attempts fell apart and failed. If they weretrying to foster a trade, you'd think they would want to keep it as quite as possible.

The Post and JLC have been wrong many times in the past, so we'll see what happens. In light of these rumors, it will be interesting to see if Vinny or Zorn comes forward to deny these reports, as they've done in the past. If they don't, then these rumors may have merit.

I have hard time believing that this is just a rumor..and can't comprehend why? I understand that JC has underachieved...but...Can anyone advise me as to why we drafted Colt Brennan..I thaught we we're supposed to be grooming him for the takeover...

Why are the Redskins doing this... Jay Cutler is not better than Campbell...

By getting involved in this they risk alienating their quarterback and turning this into a season long drama. My guess is this Cutler thing falls through because we don't have the parts to make it work and Jason Campbell gets ticked off. He has a great season anyway because he's finally comfortable in the system and the rookies step up and the line keeps him off his back... Then he refuses to re-sign with the team and gets a big contract from someone else leaving us in his dust...

Isn't Cerrato supposed to be the voice of the owner on personnel issues? Either he lied through his teeth about Cutler or he should be fired for speaking without knowing what the owner had in mind... players take these things personal whether they say so or not, and you can't expect their loyalty down the road if they can't trust what the front office tells them... which is also what Cutler is saying happened in Denver...

If the rumors and speculation are correct, and bringing in Cutler is the first step toward acquiring Mike Shanahan, count me in with both feet.

I don't know why. Cooley is a great teammate and hard worker. The guy had one TD last year. I love Cooley as a Redskins but I would not be heartbroken to see him go. The WC offense doesn't use the TE that much anyways and Davis is bigger and more of an athlete, I am sure he would be a fine fill in, especially if getting rid of Cooley meant bringing in Cutler.

You can't blame Cooley's lack of TD's on him. He had the most receptions on the team, and the most by a TE in franchise history. He's arguably our best offensive player, and a great core Redskin. He wants to play his entire career in B&G, and most fans would love to see him do just that. I'm with spud on this one.

haha, nothing at this point in their careers point to JC being better than Cutler... if things do fall through, and JC has a great season (statistically better in all categories than he has been in his career and a potential pro bowl pick), then I will personally donate money to this website to purcahse a keg of beer for a THN tailgate, or if I am more local by that time, i will deliver the keg myself... and if after just one "great" season (after multiple dismal seasons), someone gives him a big contract, then oh well, let him go... however, i truly do not see him having a great season, i think he has had his time to shine, and he hasn't stepped up...

How come we haven't heard JC whining that they should not be trying to trade him? Oh yeah, because he actually has some maturity and leadership skills.

Mark my words, if we trade JC for Cutler, JC will have a better year than Cutler in 2009. You heard it here first. (I don't think this trade will happen though. Less than 20% chance. Lions and Browns could easily put together a better package)

I don't know how anyone could think this makes sense. The only reason Cutler had more yds is b/c of several factors. The Bronco's were playing from behind most games and also did not have a run game last year either. Also, JC had line issues where he was literally running for his life.

Cutler is known league wide to be a bonafied PUNK. Ask Phillip Rivers who is favorite player is.....and Rivers is a great guy.

Vinny and Danny love to make splashes. They love being talked about in the media and you know how the love to make a "DEAL." For some reason, we usually still loose out on the deal. I still think we lost out on the Portis/Bailey trade. but thats just my personal opinion.

I would take a reliable, quiet QB who does not win nor loose games for us over a guy who has a vocal opinion about everything football related.

NO THANK YOU VINNY AND DANNY. I think Redskins Nation is perfectly fine with our QB in Jason Campbell. Get him a good lineman and we will have something.

C'mon, aren't we overdue for a deal where we trade away the few draft picks we have + future draft picks that we surely won't need for a prima donna player?

If this trade goes through then I have to wonder when the Skins will upgrade the O line with a first round draft choice. It wouldn't be this year and most likely not next year either

Having a good running game makes passing the ball easier. It was very impressive what Cutler did despite an utter lack of a rushing attack. JC had a solid running game, particularly early in the season, and still struggled all season putting points on the board. No doubt the line struggled last season but JC's slow decision making and slow release contributed to that problem. Besides, Matt Cassell took 9 more sacks than JC last season and still posted better numbers, including 21 tds, so to blame all of JC's problems on factors beyond his control (i.e. the line, the receivers) is a joke.

Exactly! Also don't forget that Cutler really opened up Denver's running game. He had the defenses so spread out that even Peyton Hillis the team's FOURTH string RB was able to repeatedly break loose big gains untouched. The point is defenses fear this guy because he is a playmaker and that is what we need and have been lacking on this offense for a long time.

You have got to be kidding me! Cutler is not better than Campbell. Defenses salivate to go after Campbell. They know he will not be able to adjust to a blitz and burn them. So I noticed after the Pittsburgh game teams just pinned there ears back and went after him. This killed our running game and our season. He was always confused and calling timeouts. It ticks me off just thinking about it.
