After watching this chargers game, i think our WR's should be tutored by theirs on catching the ball. Incidentally, they have the fewest drops in the league and Rivers has the best Qb rating. Coincidence? I think not.

.
<GASP> You mean to tell me that receivers catching (or not) the ball has a direct affect on the QB rating? Blasphemy!!!

I didn't see the game, was JC hanging him out to dry or was Moss just dropping passes?

Both. Moss had a sure crossing route, right in the hands in stride...

He also had Moss at max vertical trying to get him killed.

No, the other throw was ok too. Good receivers make that catch easily. He wasn't quite maxed out he just has no hands and he got hit and it fell out.

that was horribly inacurrate. Moss has overr a 1000 yds. recieving this year, he is not the problem. ARE started on a superbowl winning team.

We can get all the Wr's we want, but untill we get a good Qb, we won't have a good passing game.

1. Did you watch the game? Moss dropped at least 3 passes.

2. Big deal, ARE played on a championship team. He probably had less than 500 yards receiving that year. Real productive. People can say the same thing about Roethlisberger, but he's overrated too. The steelers win due to defense.

Ask STeeler fans and they say he was productive they know more than you. Jason constantly over threw Moss all this year. In that game Jason threw balls at Randel El's feet. We went over this in the official Qb switch thread yes the one were you had nothing more to say, about how wrong you were. Get over it Jason sucks. Ben is twice the Qb Jason will ever be. Lets see how many Qb's had the Steelers had since Bradshaw left, but only one, won the superbowl. Big Ben is one of the best Qb's in football.

I have question for any Steelers fan looking at this, do you think Big Ben sucks? ROTFALMAO

Jason Campbell better than Big Ben hold on ROTFALMAO

You really think JC is a way better Qb than Big Ben
ROTFALMAO
This shows how valid your opinion is.
ROTFALMAO

I didn't say Roethlisberger was worse than Campbell, I said Ben was overrated, which he is. But while we're on the subject, Campbell had a significantly better qb rating than Roethlisberger this year. They were about even in yards and TD's while Campbell threw much less picks and had a significantly better completion percentage. So yea, this year anyway, Campbell was better.

Oh, and I know many steelers fans who aren't too fond of big ben.

I was thinking about this today. I don't think it's the WR's fault. JC and them are not on the same page. They're going through yet another offense. Not to make excuses for them. They dropped balls and should've made more of attempt to get open. JC did thow A LOT of crappy passes to. For someone so big why does he throw it at their feet? There's just no snap and pop. It's dysfunctional. It's Snyder's fault really.

I will give you props that was funny. But the post does show how ridiculous and stupid a lot of these people here are.
JC can't carry big Ben's jock strap. That is a fact.

When Big Ben came to the STeelers they were picking 11th with a below 500 record of 6-10. The opening game of the season they lost. They were 6-11 before Big Ben took over. Than they went 15-1 with him.

I am sorry thats cut and dry, Big Ben is the biggest reason they have huge success. The defense does help and so does the running game, but without Big Ben that D and running game managed a 6-10 season, and were 0-1 before he came in.

Cut and dry he is one of the best Qb's in football. The Steelers were not a good team before Big Ben took over.

They were not good the year before. But the two years before that, they went 23-8-1.

That's pretty good.

With all due respect, the reason the Steelers are good is their defense. Since Roethlisberger joined the Steelers, they have had the 1st ranked defense 3 times, the 4th ranked defense, and the 9th ranked defense. Not coincidentally, when they had the 9th ranked defense, the Steelers had their worst season at 8-8. Even though the Steelers had their best offense that year (7th overall...the other years were 15, 16, 17, 22).

The defense drives that team.

It doesn't matter they were bad the year before, they were an aging team and big ben brought new life to the team. They lost that year without Big Ben, they were going to continue that awful trend, untill Big Ben stepped up to the plate. They went from 9-7 to 6-10, it was an old aging team. Big Ben stepped up to the plate and made players around him better like the D. Dam you just take numbers and distort them, ignoring the facts once again. Let me guess JC is just as good as Payton Manning that if he was on the Colts it would be the same result. ROTFALMAO

Have I ever said that? How the hell does that qualify at all for "best qb in the NFL?" And where did I say that? Go ahead...find a post where I said that. Please.

In fact, I'll reiterate this again for you, since you don't seem to be able to read plain english. I think the Redskins would be best served by having an open QB competition next year. If Colt wins, Colt wins. If Campbell wins, Campbell wins. If they bring in a guy to compete, and he wins, then he wins. I just want the best QB to play for the Redskins. And again...I'M NOT CONVINCED THAT QB IS CAMPBELL. I'M JUST NOT CONVINCED THAT QB ISN'T, EITHER.

Campbell is not Manning, and not Brady. Hell, he's not even McNabb...not even close. I think he's better than Eli Manning, but that also doesn't say a lot (since I think Eli Manning stinks). I just don't see a better option on our roster right now. I know you're on the Colt bandwagon, but this is a guy who fell until the 6th round, when the Redskins picked him (and you know how good our FO has been in picking talent. The year before we got Jordon Palmer in the 6th round...and boy he sure turned out to be a stud for us...).

I hope this clarifies things for you sufficiently.

Are you serious? Better than Eli? Maybe if Eli broke his arm, he would be half as good as Eli, Eli isn't the best Qb, but he is light years better than idiot we have under center. Jason Campbell our teams saviour

10-5-1 they still weren't that good, and they lost in the playoffs, than they went 6-10. They still weren't a power house, Big Ben comes in and turns them into one of the best teams in the league, and superbowl champs. He is still one of biggest reason there good. He still makes players around him better, than they really are.

:-k Light years better?

Eli versus Jason 2008

Completion %: 60.3 vs. 62.3
Avg. yards: 6.8 vs. 6.4
Total Yards: 3238 vs. 3245
Rating: 86.4 vs. 84.3

Eli Versus Jason 2007
(Campbell only played 13 games so total yards are omitted)

Completion %: 56.1 vs. 60.0
Avg. Yards: 6.3 vs. 6.5
Rating: 73.9 vs. 77.6

I wouldn't exactly say Eli is "light years" ahead of Campbell.

Eli vs. Jason Career

Completion %: 55.9 vs. 59.7
Avg. Yards: 6.4 vs. 6.4
Rating: 76.1 vs. 80.4

If I had to pick a better wide reciever tandem, I'd take Toomer and Burris over Moss and Randle-El. So how does that make Eli "light years better?"

Stats don't tell everything. What good is a high completion percentage when they're 99% dumps (ala Mark Brunell) or short of the 1st down marker?

I know that Eli isn't light years ahead of Jason, he is better. I fully believe that Eli is retarded too, lol. He also has a better surrounding cast and stability. Even with all that aside, if I had to build around one, it'd be Eli. He simply has better mechanics, a quicker release and better touch.

He does. Yet there's one critical flaw with Eli that you're forgetting. He makes a lot of really dumb passes. In 73 games, he's thrown 74 interceptions, while Campbell's thrown 23 in 36 games. Eli is guarenteed to throw about 3 passes per game that make you say...what the hell? On a team like the Redskins, that would kill us; on a team like the Giants (you know...a good team), he can get away with it.

True but he'll also get some TD's too. I agree that he's retarded thats why BJ is so crucial to their success.

It's taking risks, there's no doubt about that. How many times do we wish Jason would have just tossed one downfield to see if Moss could come down with it, rather than checking down for another 3-4 yard gain on 3rd and 8?

I agree.

I don't really disagree with any of the points leading to how dumb Eli is... He is quite dim but he puts up points, he makes the throws and takes the risks.... The man has a ring, can't argue that or take it away from him as much as you want to hate. And....they're back in the hunt.

The kid is good, he's not Peyton but he doesn't need to be. He IS better than Jason regardless of who's around him or stats.

Jason's stats are cute and cuddly but put it beside a win/loss column and see how you feel.
