I hope the game on 12/28 in SF is for our playoff life as I will be in the second row behind the Skins bench.
Four in a row! Four in a row!
Go Skins!
Probably not.
Just be happy that with a NEW coach we beat the 500 mark and have something to build on for next year.

Much better angle I can live with. There still haven't ben the strides I feel is necessary to gauge this season a success, but with our current record, it cannot be deemed a total loss. Even if we go 7-9, I still wouldn't deem it a total loss, even though those Ws are on the shoulders of an exhausted CP. Another facet I'm not happy with AT ALL. We're killing CP and not getting any help from the other side of hte offense.
...any given Sunday....

The National Anthem sucks.
What a useless piece of propagandist rhetoric that is.

You are right on the money about the playoff things, but you're noy correct about the winning season thing.
96 we went 9-7
97 we went 8-7-1 (technically a winning season)
Feel better? Me neither!
But we have won a playoff game more recently than Dallas!
Back to back playoff runs and winning seasons would be a huge step forward!

it is a bummer that the skins have been all and all below average since say 91-92, but there is one thing for certain.... this is the best two year run they have had, with the draft coming up and depending on how they finish the season, they may very well be able to go 3 years with a winning record and to go to the playoffs each of those three seasons. I personally can't stand free agents that don't pan out and love the current stuation with the wide outs.... also JC is not finished, it takes a minute to adjust.. the season goes buy very quickly , and when the playoffs hit, JC will be ready to face alot problems while keeping his head in the game. Zorn and his staff I believe will make all the difference down the road and could pull a few strings, why because the offense has seemed so one deminsional as of late and with the 4 games left and the development of the deep ball, because of the new offensive threats ie kelly and thomas the skins to me look good, even at running back we are fresher and still talented enough to go ,via betts, he is after all still a very good runner and will compliment sellers nicely in the back field. Last but not least the coaching staff has alot of experience, well, a rookie head coach, but he has been around for a long time and coached qbs since forever, blach, will be there and is very solid. GO SKINS GO SKINS GO SKINS GO SKINS

REDSKINS FOOTBALL RULES
Dallas has to lose "TODAY" to start .... they have the Steelers, Giants, Ravens and Eagles..... tough stretch .... we have to win out and TIEBREAKER? Head to head (even), I think we win on division record... if they lose to the eagles & giants . If they split, it goes to next tiebreaker ... not sure what that is..(maybe conference record).
Now with that said, we got Carolina & Atlanta to deal with. Carolina has the Bucs and the Giants remaining and a season ender against the Saints????? don't know if the Saints will have anything to play for by then ...
Well Atlanta has the easiest road of them all .... Odds are against us bigtime... A start would be a win in Baltimore...

I think that JSPB has it - if we end up tied with the pukes, I'm pretty sure we finish a spot in front of them. They have a tough group of games coming and could very easily lose all 4 Our last 2 games and the pukes last 2 games are going to be very important.
The challenge comes from the NFC South but they all have difficult stretches too.
I think that 2 teams from each group will go to the playoffs.
At this time we look like a decent but not very good team - no matter what our record is, if we are honest with ourselves, we actually have a better record than we should have and we have a number of things to address this off season in order to be a better team.
We are a better team but not by much. We do have a new coach and a decent basis on which to build but there are going to be a number of changes here soon - I just hope that most of them are younger players.
Until recently, Snyder & Allen have made a lot of really bad decisions - nobody with any sense believes this franchise will get better under their guidance Snyder's W/L record = 45% (80-96) - Snyder/Allen = 41% (59-84-1)
The Redskins proved early in the year that they had the elements necessary to be a contender, and at 6-2, they shot up the charts in everyone's power ranking. They were no worse than rated in the top 5, and rightfully so given their performance against a very solid group of teams over that 8 game stretch.
Then, the offense simply disappeared for whatever reason.....and we all have our own thoughts as to why that happened.
So I'm surprised at the universal negativity and pessimism, especially about not wanting to go to the playoffs, only to lose. That's ridiculous. If they make it to the playoffs, it will be because they've found a way to improve production on offense, and they've already demonstrated that they can beat just about anyone on any given Sunday.
A win at Baltimore tonight is crucial. And they can beat the Ravens. The Raven's offense relies heavily on the run and our defense can keep them in check.....that, I am confident about.
But we need points on offense (or on defense) to win. But everyone is right about one thing....if the offensive issues aren't corrected, the team is done, and it would be a shame to start 6-2 and not even make the playoffs.

I'll feel this way AFTER it happens (if it does). But I'm not conceding this now. Four in a row!

What's the point of making the playoffs when it has already been proven
you can't compete against playoff caliber teams?
I would like to see the redskins go 11-5 but it is doubtful. I know that once you make it anything can happen (see New York Giants of last year) but the Redskins would probably lose their first playoff game anyway.

the one flaw in your theory, is the the skins DO play good on the road. similar to the giants of last year. wins at dallas and at philly are something to hang your hat on. those are tougher wins than having to play at arizona or minny like we would have to do if we make the playoffs.
We would need to win out - I could see doing that IF we did not have to play the Ray Lewis's in 20 degree weather. The Pukes would need to lose one more, the Falcons would need to lose again too. If we did make it as the 6th seed we'd have to go to Carolina, Tampa or Minny - then New York. All of the above would take heart - something we proved not to have last week.
