But I'm fairly certain that was because if you looked at the formation, Blache had the LBs and safeties playing off the line, basically inviting the Cards to run. When the Skins had to stop the run, they stacked the line...and stuffed the run. However, when you look at the Cards, you're really not worried about James and Hightower beating you; you're worried about the passing game beating you.
Blache made a decision to overplay the pass. And, it worked.
I really like how our defense is turning out. It's very solid.
I agree 100% The Cards aren't going to beat you with their running game.
Now, I don't know what they're going to do against Dallas!

Yeah, the plan was to prevent the long TD passes, which worked except for the long TD pass to Fitzgerald. The Redskins were content to letting the Cardinals run some and focus on the WRs.
And yes, it's going to be much different trying to stop the Cowboys. They have a very strong offensive line and can run and pass. It will be a difficult matchup.

we will put Springs on TO, Landry helping up top laying the wood whenever possible, then stack the box and stop the run, we'll see if their #2, #3 WR can beat us...

I'm not buying that. Brandon Jacobs averaged 5.5 yards per carry against us and James 5.2. It's not a very encouraging sign that both Jacobs and Edge had their best games of the season against us. The problem imo is that we have two undersized defensive ends and a major hole at one of the linebacker spots as Marcus Washington is essentially worthless out there right now. He looks like he is running in quicksand.

We're 3 games into the season, the "their best game of the season" line is wholly without merit.

It's a small sample size but the fact is that Jacobs had a better game against us than he did against either Cincy or St. Louis. Arizona came into this game averaging 2.7 yards per carry and were generally able to run the ball with ease against our defense. In a division with Barber, Westbrook, and Jacobs, stopping the run is going to be key to our success on defense. Right now we are struggling in that area. Currently we are giving up over 100 yards a game on the ground. Last season stopping the run was out strength so it's concerning that we've struggled this much with it this season.

I'm sure they'll be able to convert that good faith into 7 points on Sunday.

canes, that was the first game of the season, the Gints were riding on their superbowl high, and all the hoopla, we went there and couldn't match their intensity and emotion on that game. In a way we got caught up in all the hoopla, opening show, Gints at home etc etc....
The D has recovered, their doing a good job, I must say though they don't seem as good as last few years. But we have good LB's and a decent line, better if JT was there for this one. The DB's are coming along, we are finding Gems, as well as late bloomers like Carlos (actually diving AND CATCHING an INT) Yah we were stuffing and snuffing the run last year cos the other team was more than happy to take the dink an dunk that we gave them from our CB spacings
