"Athletics is important, success is important, but who you are as a man is more important" -Art Monk
I am really happy for this guy. On the few occasions when he does open his mouth, there is a lot of wisdom in what he has to say.

Hey, I just had to drop in and say I'm so excited and Happy to see Monk finally get in. I knew Green would get in, however we have all been waiting for Art Monk to reach this HOF induction for a long time. I hope I see you all in Canton Aug 2nd!!!!

It's fine. The point is that Green and Monk are now in the hall! A great injustice was corrected regarding Monk. Now, if we could just get at least one member of The Hogs in the HOF we would have nothing to complain about.

Monk may have the shortest speech in HOF induction history. No matter the length you can bet it will be genuine and heartfelt. Besides, if yesterday was any indication, everyone will have to same time for DG's speech.

Congratulations to Art and Darrell. They were the standard bearers for the offence and the defence in their time. The two outstanding Redskins of my early years as a Redskins fan, and my two favourite players. This is no time to be churlish and bitter about how long it took Art to be elected. It's just a great day today, and all the more special that they have both been elected in together. I doubt that I'll be able to get to Canton for the ceremony (it's quite a long walk from here), but that's one place I'd love to be on August 2nd.
I've just been watching an old video of the NFC championship game from 1992. Before the game, the two key players for the Redskins were identified by June Jones (yeah, I know, what does he know?!) - guess which two players he picked? It wasn't hard to do, of course. These two were the main men on a team of big men.
Hail!

Redskins want to play in Hall of Fame game
With two former Redskins getting enshrined this summer, team owner Dan Snyder already has told the NFL that he wants his team to play in annual Hall of Fame game on Sunday, Aug. 3, according to David Elfin of The Washington Times.
The induction ceremonies, which will include Darrell Green and Art Monk, will take place on Saturday, Aug. 2 at the Pro Football Hall of Fame in Canton, Ohio.
If Snyder gets his wish, the Redskins will play five preseason games instead of just four, and training camp will start a week earlier than usual. The Hall of Fame game takes place at Fawcett Stadium in Canton.
I hope Dan gets his wish. It would be great to be in this game for two reasons, IMO. The first, and most obvious, is because of Monk's and Green's selection to the HOF. Second, if we get in this game, we will then play in 5 preseason games, which, IMO, would be extremely beneficial for the new offense to get some extra work.

You haven't been wrong dude. You were right the whole time. It was the dudes without brains who were wrong. Maybe that's what no-brainer meant in this case.
If you ask me, Monk was a stronger candidate then Troy Aikman who went in first ballot.
I'll be wearing my 81 today while I watch the game.

My congrats to both Monk, and Green. Both are deserving to be there. Monk was better in every single way than Micheal Irvin. Except for Arrests, and Dressing like Huggie Bear.

I must say that listening to Art made me feel good to be a Skin. I haven't felt that happy about this team in forever. Playoffs are great and all but...this really touched me when I heard the sincerity in his voice.
D. Green used to be my fav. Redskins until I heard him open his mouth.
