Just so you know, that's pretty much entirely wrong, on multiple levels.
How so? Please elaborate.
There are six seeds two wild card teams and four division winners.
The winner of the wild card 4 and 5 seed will play the number one seed the following week.
The winner of the other wild card 3 and 6 seed will play the number 2 seed the following week.

No. The last, or in this case the 6th, seed plays the 1st seed. Your scenario is correct only if the #3 seed wins against #6 in the WC round.

In that case, it makes it better for the SKins. If we get in as a sixth seed. If we win the wild card match then we should see the cowboys the next week.

Better in a sense, yes. But IF WE DID get a 5 seed we could conceivably ruin the Cowboys' year in the NFC title game. Also, with a 5 seed it's even possible (remotely, of course) to HOST the title game against the 6 seed.
No one need reply to tell me how far fetched this is and that all I should worry about is the Giant game. I KNOW THAT.

I dont care how the playoffs go or who we would meet and where we would have to play. I just want them to win out and have new orleans lose a game and just get to the playoffs. Then we can talk.

WHAT on Gods green earth makes anyone here think the Redskins can win out???!!!
Don't get me wrong, I think they could if they could catch a break or two or three or four. That has not happened this year. Interception...oops...fumble, oops...reciever wide open...oops. No breaks, no luck, no chance.
I will watch every game, scream at the top of my lungs, and hope against hope they win out, but there is a spot in my heart where doubt lingers. Until the team plays a ful 60 min. like they believe, how can I.
Damn, I miss 21

There are some of us that have been fans for a while and it has been tough sometimes BUT that is what being a true fan is - fans like you have a lot to learn - why not try being positive in your approach to your football team and your life
we are not a good football team but we make our own luck - and we sometimes come up against a team like tonight that just wants to give us the game - get a life

Redskins win...life is good!
Being a true fan is routing for your team no matter what...seeing them through a glass half full if you will. But a true fan will also recognize the short comings of their team and can only hope the frount office will fix it.
Fifteen years of waiting for a fix can take its toll on you.
If I wake up on the right side if the grass...its a good day

Playoff scenarios....

here you go guys... this is where we stand.
1. we should root HEAVILY for the bears tonight. IF the vikings win tonight, we WILL be eliminated with a loss next week. their will be no back up plan. now, on the other hand, should minny LOSE tonight, and beat the redskins next week... the redskins could still get in with a win, a minny loss to end the year in denver (not impossible), two saints losses... eagles, at bears (also not impossible), and a panthers loss... cowboys, at tampa (very likely). so, long story short, if the vikings lose tonight and the saints lose to the eagles next week... no matter what we do on sunday night, we would still be alive going into week 17.
1a. if we beat the vikings, the same scenario is almost true to get in with a loss to dallas... TWO saints losses AND a panthers loss. The difference is minny can lose to EITHER the bears or the broncos.
2.. now, assuming the vikings win tonight AND against denver... we can get in with 2 wins and EITHER.... ONE saints loss.... OR two giants losses.
if you have any questions, please let me know. i will check this thread often.

While I'll definitely be rooting for the Bears tonight, I want scenarion #2, where the G-stings are out of the playoffs.

I think there may be another option
**DISCLAIMER** - I do not profess to know how tiebreakers and the like work out or to know the magic mathmatic formula for making the playoffs.
If the Giants lose next week to the Bills (Highly probable!) and then lose to the Pats (Provided the pats don't loose next week to miami and thus have nothing to play for the last week of the season) dpesn't that mean if we win out and the saints win out the Saints would get the Giants spot and we would get the last one.
Also if the giants lose out and the saints loose one then we get in at the 5 spot with the giants taking the last spot methinks?

Scenario #2 covers that. Note the words "either" and "or" highlighted above. Actually, we are in if we win out and the G-strings lose out. The Vikings' play doesn't affect us as long as we win our games.

OK Bills are better than the Giants so good news is if we got 9-7 and if Saints go in also at 9-7 than where out.But basically if Giants go 9-7 and where 9-7 by the end of the season than wherre gonna be in because we would of beaten 3 division teams and won 3 stright which would not only let us clinch and playoff birth but take out the Giants hope who they have to play Bills than Pats.

trans-guess-tion:
The Bills are a tough team to play at home. They are very likely to defeat the NY Giants. If we manage to win our next two games, it does not matter whether the Saints go 9 - 7. We would be in as a result of the tie breaks.

No. The Saints own a better record in the NFC, winning the second tiebreaker (the first is head to head, but we didn't play them this year).
However, if the Skins win out and the Giants lose both remaining games, the Skins go in and the Giants do not.

sorry but that doesn't sound so promising. Saints last two games are against phili and chicago.

Were is the Saints/Philly game being played? I could see the Eagles winning, they beat the Cowboys yesterday and the Saints have a much softer D.

The Eagles just beat the Dallas Cowboys yesterday and have a lot of pride. Their defenses is leaps and bounds ahead of the Cards D and they have a lot of pride. Andy Reid will have them ready to play and the Saints aren't world beaters, they have lost a lot of winnable games this year. And with McNabb they always have a chance, I don't care how banged up or aged he may be. And the Giants have to go to Buffalo and then play the Pats without Shockey the rest of they way. The Skins are sitting pretty and all they need to do is take care of their business and let the rest fall into place.

Basically we need to win our last two games.
In addition to that, we are in if:
The Saints lose one.
OR
The G-strings lose two.
It's as simple as that.
