I just don't understand this idea. How are you definitely the better team? Brutal defense? You guys ranked 31st last year, yeah you have some upgrades but you do know that we ranked 4th right? Not to mention, Joey Porter is on our team now.

No, I didn't. But then we didn't get to play the Dolphins every week.

You dont understand because you havnt watched the Skins beast on defense this preseason, and we know when our team looks like the defense we had in 04' 05' but with more speed and talent, and defense aside, you dont have any gamebreakers your offense weapons are limited and dont tell me that your unproven rookie is a gamebreaker and as for getting pressure look at our 2 HEALTHY years under Greg Williams we were top 10 in points allowed both years and we didnt have any then, and you guys had great pass rush last year and you went 6-10, ill take our defense over yours any day, and lets say it is a defensive battle...ask yourself who has the better offense? Look who scored more points last year, and who has more depth on offense. And if you really wanna keep pulling the "31st" rank on us i could sit there and talk about your 20th ranked majority healthy offense, while we had Brunell starting for 9 games, no portis, injured moss who barely played, and we were still a better offense...oh yea and a dolphin is a weak mascot!!!

Listen bro, I live in South Florida and most Fins fans here have a realistic and rational perspective on Green. He is a band aide that maybe has a year or two left in the tank, and most fans here recognize that.
Trent Green was nothing before he went to Kansas City. The VAST majority of his success with the Chiefs was directly attributed to their offensive coordinator, Al Saunders, who happens to be our current offensive coach. Green is one big hit and one concussion away from retirement, and Mr. LaRon Landry very well may be the one to expedite the end of Trent's career.
Where is your depth, on both sides of the ball? I'll grant you that your defense has been decent over the past few years, but what has that gotten you? Your defense is aging, you have no secondary, and absolutely no depth for rotation.
On offense, again, where is the depth? You have a decent RB in Ronnie Brown and a decent WR in Chambers. That's it. Ginn is as green as you get, but I'll grant he is an upgrade over Booker at WR. If Green and Brown miss any time at all, do you really think Cleo Lemon and Jesse Chatman will do anything for that offense? Even Shula and Marino talk here on the TV and radio about the horrible o-line and the lack of depth, on both sides of the ball.
I am a former Class-A PGA Golf Professional. I was the 1st assistant at Adios Golf Club in Deerfield Beach, FL for several years. Adios Golf Club is a private, millionaires mens club, with many professional athletes as members. I no longer work there but am still good friends with the General Manager of the club, Arther Cobb, and still play there from time to time. Dan Marino is a member at Adios and I have personally had several conversations with him over the years regarding the Dolphins. Several months ago, before Trent Green was signed, the foursome of Dan Marino, Chris Carter, Keith Byers (all members) and Olindo Mare were in the pro shop at Adios talking football. ALL of them shared a good and long laugh about the idea of Cleo Lemon leading this team. There is no depth on that team and everyone knows it.
So say what you want, it just comes off as mindless and uninformed chatter. I can appreciate that a fan wants his team to be successful, but you fail to recognize that simple FACT that if the Dolphins were to lose 2 or 3 players, for any length of time, the team has no chance. Additionally, the Dolphins have all new coaches, a new QB and a new playbook. Do you really they've had enough time together to be a cohesive or integrated unit? I didn't think so. Not only do the Dolphins need some luck against the Skins September 9th, they'll need quite a bit of luck to manage the entire season.

I'll just say this. If you think Ginn is just going to be a punt returner and if you think the Skins will blow the Fins out. You have no clue what's going on in Miami.
I know exactly what's going on in Miami. You got a 40 year old QB who couldn't even make a terrible team like the Chiefs, you have one good receiver (Chambers), and your running game is okay. Does that about sum it up? Blowout, I doubt it. A win? Put money on it.

We're not in trouble. There is NO WAY the Skins blow us out. You have a chance to win, but you're not scoring 20 points on us and your defense is one of the worst in the NFL.
My prediction is 21-10 Dolphins. Miami defense forces 2 turnovers, 1 of which leads to a short field and easy Miami TD.
One of the worst Defenses? Tell Chambers to bring his ass across the middle against Landry and Taylor and let me know what he thinks then!!

I'm so damn sick of hearing that. EVERY PLAYER IN THE NFL IS ONE HIT AWAY FROM RETIREMENT!
Yeah, the rookie is suddenly the biggest hitter? Look, Landry is nice, but if he's the guy I have to worry about rushing my quarterback, I'll take my chances. What are you going to do when you have the best pass rusher coming at your guy along with Joey Porter, Matt Roth, Vonnie Holliday and Channing Crowder. Good luck there. Don't feel bad though, this defense is going to get around 55 sacks this year, every one's QB is in danger.
Great, a bunch of ex-players don't like our chances. Perhaps the guys like Michael Irvin, Shannon Sharpe or Deion Sanders (ya' know, the "experts" on those pre-game shows) would like to pick against us.
