This will be "the Danny's" legacy... He fired a coach that didn't get along with the players but those same players PLAYED for him every snap. He got the salary cap under control in 1 year without fielding a sub .500 team, a team that was sure to make the post season the year he was fired had he stayed. Why was he fired?
According to most reports "the Danny" was having FUN anymore
hence the "fantasy Football Owner" tag.

Can't put this one on "the Danny" because Gibbs keeps saying it's on him. Nothing says "the Danny" has stepped in and taken anything away from Gibbs that he had in year one. Having "the Danny" involved in player selection has always been apart of the Gibbs setup, unfortunately his part is bigger than just signing checks.

In my opinion it more on Gibbs than it is "the Danny" but I'd go a step further and put it squarely on Williams front door.
"the danny" does what he does and Gibbs controled that when he first got here, he had the most say in everything, he gave GW input but he had the final say. As time went on he gave up more and more of his "voice". He known as a offensive genius and he hired a OC, at the same time he had to give Gregg more say over the player that played on his side of the ball. Williams ego never came into questioned until there was another coordinator on the staff (any coordinator could have promoted Steve Jackson from Safeties Coach to Secondary coach, only a DC with some juice could hire a buddy to fill the position AND "promote" the guy that was in line for the job to start with). This isn't how Gibbs does business yet this is Gibbs team and it happen. From there we enter the "Getting the guys the coordinator's the want" phase Saunders got two WRs (one is working out, one is becoming a mystery, GW picked up AA and AC same outcome. the year before Gibbs was given a list and a decsion was made based on who was on the list and how Gibbs felt about that player. There is nothing out there saying the same process was used last year. As Team Pres. that falls on Gibbs. IMNSHO 2006 falls on GW but that's just MNSHO
