What, no controversy?

Ah, these Skins are no fun to follow. How about a little cancer, Moss? You've got quite a name to live up to. . .why not say something like "I only play when I want to" or squirt a ref with a water bottle?

At the very least, you could come out and say that you don't pay attention in players meetings, or criticize Gibbs for not giving you the ball enough, or say that Mark Brunell is clearly not the man for this team.

Anything?

No?

. . .you're no fun. . .

I think I saw a size 13 Michelin rolling through the visitors tunnel @ 11:30 pmEST this past Sunday, but I could be wrong.

Seriously, I'm one who has called for the JC investment to start now, and I'd say probably 60% on this board feel the same way. However, I desperately want to be wrong about Mark. If Portis comes back posessed (which he may well do) and stays healthy, I guess Mark has a chance to be OK. I just have a feeling that we can't compete with the elite teams come playoff time without a real playmaker at qb. I'm sick of typing that sentiment, so I'll try to stop.

Coming soon to a locker room near you....Coach Janky-Spanky?

anyone who interferes with the redskins chances of victory is a turd.

"sigh"

To paraphrase, Let me try and make this point with you - If you think the starting QB for your team is a turd then I think this speaks volumes about you as a fan. On this point I rest my case!

I think that Gibbs should play the QB who he thinks gives him the best chance to win and would love to see him make a switch to Campbell. At the same time I think that Gibbs wants to see something from other aspects of the offense before he makes this change.

I do not think that calling people names is really going to help our situation and you are so obviously so bent out of shape about our QB and have been for a while now, that it that it would be almost impossible to have a rational discussion on this topic. My 2 cents

I hope the offense gets back in gear soon and the team starts playing with the sort of intensity that is needed to be successful in the NFL. I still think that this season will be a good season for us and will continue to support our team and the players.

Heck, even Alex Smith, in only his second year on the sorry-@$$ Niners has managed to win a game, get more yards, toss more TDs, and get a higher passer rating than Brunell, and he did it with WRs inferior to what Brunell has here. Now do you want to argue Alex Smith's got a better O-line too?

I'll argue that. If I compare both teams by the games they have played so far this season and the stats as of Tuesday this week..the Niners look pretty good. Stats don't lie ;).

Redskins need a new QB bottom line. The Niners have been playing good ball lately and Skins have not. Gibbs needs to get Jason Campbell on the field. The kid has a gun and will at least take risks and thow the ball farther than 10 yards. If the skins lose in Houston, I would expect to see Jason Campbell starting by week four. If not, than Gibbs' loyaltly to Brunell will cost the Redskins the season.

Come on, he's only talking about how Mark plays, not his value as a human being, personality etc. Lighten up...we're all on the same team here. Some express their frustrations differently than you...why judge their standing as a fan. This conversation is getting OLD!

Brunell has not looked sharp but let's not skip the point that the offensive line has not been getting the job done. I don't want to see JC thrown in just to be mauled.

Why not, Brunell is getting mauled...what's the difference? Give the ball to someone who will take risks and throw the ball downfield. We have all seen the games...the receivers have been open and the ball is not getting to them.

Another quote. Unfortunately, he takes a shot at skins fans at the end...

Brunell's early-season struggles in Washington are a case in point, Esiason said. The critics and pundits have totally overlooked the fact that Brunell's lack of production and comfort level so far might have everything to do with him learning a new offense under first-year associate head coach Al Saunders.

"People want playmakers at quarterback because it's the highest-paid position on the field, but if you're not comfortable in a new offense, you're going to be cautious until you are,'' Esiason said. "And don't forget, Washington is notorious for its love of quarterback controversies. I think they actually salivate over those in D.C.''

Given what has happened here in the last 6 years, that's a pretty well-deserved shot. That kind of a reputation isn't a mark of an intelligent fan base, as much as I respect DC fans. . .but I'm hopeful that this will change My 2 cents

Although, winning changes everything, so hopefully Dr. Gibbs will bring some of that to the table. :)

I expect the OL to hold and the recevers to be wide open againgst Houston.
Portis is back. Let's see what Brunell can do with all the advantages. No excuses this time.

Atta BOY! CONGRATS! I don't care if every pass was a short pass, it's winning football and brilliant game management.

I've said before that it's his job to shut the haters up. And boy did he.

The guy is like Rocky. You get down on him and he comes back with a flurry . . . and an NFL record. Guess he gets the start next week, eh?

NOt to put u down Mark B, but Boo-nell still sucks, it does not change the fact he is a scared noodle arm.

We beat one of the worst teams and our D looked weak againat the run and especially the pass. We still suck.

Hope we get it together before mid season.

Not to put down Mark B?

ROTFALMAO

I'll take 24/27 for 260 yards on a noodle arm any time. Sure it was against the Texans... and we dominated the Texans like you want to see a team dominate them. The texans couldn't get the Redskins offense off the field all day long... were it not for Rock's fumble, and kneeling down to end the game... the offense could have put up a lot more points. They didn't... true enough.... but even against the texans... they came a long way today. Five hundred yards against any NFL defense is a good day.

Definitely nothing to get over excited about, but definitely worthy of allowing yourself to not hate for at least a day.

amen to that Boss...in the NFL a win is a win and good teams beat bad teams on the road.

Folks should think of it this way -- we're tied with Carolina and the Giants (or will be very soon!) at 1-2. The Eagles are just one game up. Lots of football to go...we're not dead yet.

All these numbers are good for stats... and a win is a win... but we better build on this and beat JAC which after todays game is likely

I know that TRUE Redskin Fans are smiling this evening. We did just what we should have done, beat a hapless team in their own park. NOW all of you who were clamoring for Jason Campbell, SHUT UP. let Coach Gibbs do what he does best, that is, what is best for our team. One week at a time.

I'm glad that we won but I still think that Campbell should be in there. Nothing that Brunell did today made me feel any better about him. The vast majority of his passes were wr screens and dump offs to the running backs. I still don't believe that he has the physical tools left to the get the ball downfield and challenge a good defense. We'll see how he does next week against a very tough Jacksonville defense.

How could Mark have exicuted any better than he did today? He is still only doing what he is told to do. Jason Campbell will be fine, Down the road. Joe Gibbs is the man who put that hardware in a case at Redskin Park, we MUST ALL trust him with our team. That means making the desicions on who holds the clipboard (and for how long) and who puts this team in possition to best win the game.

I never said that Brunell didn't execute well today. I have no doubt that he can execute a short passing attack well. On the other hand, I have serious doubts as to whether he can step up in the pocket under pressure and make a play instead of chucking the ball out of bounds, or make throws down the field to his wr's. While he executed well today, nothing that I saw made me feel any better abouts that I have regarding Brunell.
