First Hognostications CONTROVERSY of the season:

As you know, the Hognostications include a TIE break, the MNF game score. Several posters have decided to Hognosticate this score as if it is ONE game. Only problem is that there are TWO games.

So, here it goes: I posted the score Hognostication for the Washington Redskins-Vikings game. The other one does not matter to me. BUT there are other possibilities. How about the score being the average of the two games. Or the TOTAL score of the TWO games?

I do not think we predicted (Hognosticated?) an anomalous situation like this one. Of course, you could waste your time arguing with me about it. But you should not because AS ALWAYS Texas Hogs decides these things.

I just dropped the idea here because the ONLY truly sneaky guy who saw through this in advance was ... JansenFan. Such a snake!

Check his score Hognostication for MNF. I mean, we are going to beat the Vikes but by over 60 points? I did not think so.

Two critical interceptions for TDs! Talk about throwing a game away!

Way to go to start the season.

I would think you would have hognosticated those INTs.

Uh, I think that it should either be the average score or the Redskins-Vikings game alone, or even the other game, but NOT the total score of the two games. After all, I think that page asked for the MNF game, not the MNF games.

This is clearly the only fair way to do it and has nothing to do with my hognosticated score.

On the other hand why would there be a tie-breaker prior to the LAST game ending. The results of the game alone could break any tie at that time, or cause a tie between two hognosticators so the score of that game must be considered. Either as part of a average or as part of the sum of both games.

Why rely on a tie-breaker anyway, pick all winners and then you can flip a coin against me

In most pools this season the "last" monday night game is the tiebreaker. That's the one I based my points on but I don't think it's going to matter one way or another.

Well, so far it looks like quite a few of us need to shake off the hognosticating rust that has accumulated over the off-season.

Rust? More like CRUST!

Let us do the painful thing of revising the scores of some well known (and otherwise decent) Hognosticators:

37 SkinsJock 8-6
40 joebagadonuts 8-6
41 Justice Hog 8-6
46 Punu 7-7
46 Redskin in Canada 7-7
50 UK Skins Fan 7-7
52 Texas Hog 7-7
53 1niksder 6-8
54 redskingush 6-8

and ... last but not ..., well actually last up to now:

56 Fios 6-8

I did say in the Hognostications Counterpoint that the FIRST week was the MOST difficult, didn't I?

TONS of ground to cover against other well known Hogs:

3 ArizonaHog 11-3
8 CLL 10-4
10 JSPB 10-4
12 JansenFan 10-4

Not to mention ALL the rookies who gave ALL of us "experts" a run for our money!

Well, there are 16 weeks ahead. Good luck and do your homework now.

I'll have to post that prior to every week, now. After having posted that, I was perfect for the rest of day.

Only seven wins? I was robbed. :explode: I'm so mad, I could eat a toasted squid sandwich. Where do these NFL teams get off - messing me around like this?

Still, the Cowboys lost, so who cares? :D :D :D
