I did not, and will not vote, for two reasons.

1. There is no selection that matches my opinion.
2. The premise of your poll is deliberately flawed, and designed to obtain a narrow and pre-ordained result which is fully negative from the perspective of Bush's supporters.

It's kind of like asking a person "So, did you stop beating your wife yet?" and allowing them to answer only yes or no. No matter how you respond, you are scum.

Not quite that bad, but I get your point. I started the thread as a response to the "Is Howard Dean an idiot" thread, and some of the comments that were made there. I wanted Bush supporters here to have to defend some really idiotic behavior. So I simply used the past week's G8 summit to showcase a few examples of why I feel embarrassed that Bush is the face of this great nation. I could have easily found numerous other illustrations, but he provided ample examples at the G8.

The fact that this sentence has even been seen in a conversation about the US president is a little disturbing, isn't it?

And does it have to have been sexual for it to be embarrassing?

Not as embarrassing as having the presidents "DNA" on a ladies dress other than his WIFE.

Absolutely, but at least I knew that Monica was a woman. Have you seen the German chancellor? :puke:

I said it wasn't sexual. It would have been even worse with that interpretation. The difference is that Monica Lewinsky was not the Head of State of another country, Billy-boy didn't perform his antics in front of the cameras on the world stage, and he didn't have to sneak up behind her to cop a feel.

I am so damn proud to be a REPUBLICAN!!! All of you liberal loonies out there are destroying this country with your bogus media coverage and finally America is starting to realize how you people are. This is why we won the past 2 elections and will win it in 08! The media is so bad that it actually harms our troops! I was talking to a friend that just got back from Iraq and the news actually leaked where they were going a day prior to. The liberals are to scared to stand up for anything because it might cost you a damn vote. Bush stands up for what he believes in weather you like it or not and we still voted him in! :) :) :) :)

So, to sum up your argument:
Bush is not a national embarrassment because, Clinton had an extramarital affair while in office, and Carter once kissed the Queen Mum on the lips when greeting her?

Was Clinton a national embarrassment? Had you bothered to create that thread, you might have known my answer to that question. Too late now. I will not attempt to ignore you any longer. And since attempting to discuss issues with you, is as productive as ](*,), I will simply agree with everything you post.*

Your right! Why didn't I see it before? It's all so clear now.

*This only pertains to the lounge, and smack forums. With you, I will discuss football issues only in the future.

Sounds wrought of medieval mysticism, doesn't it? I'm sure it's quite deep. Prob'ly sumpin' us lil' folk don' need to worry ourselves 'bout, none.

Maybe he meant "the Knot," which would be the tie that binds.

A cogent and coherent argument indeed. Well done.

They had a few good albums, so England shouldn't be too embarrassed. It's not like they came up with the doodlebops or something.

 Funny, JF.

As for me, I voted no.

Sure, he's done some embarassing things, as JSPB22 points out re: the G8 summit, but, to a majority of the people around the country and those troops on the frontlines, he is certanily someone that makes them proud to be citizens of the U.S.A.

Admittedly, a lot of the heat he catches makes you wonder how he got into office, etc., but make no mistake. The man is brilliant. If not, how could else could he have gotten into ofice. No matter how complicated the "scheme", he has to be smart enough to follow along.

My 2 cents
Back and better than ever!

There has been only 1 time in my life when I was embarrassed to be an American. That was when we targeted an apartment bldg in Serbia to shut down a broadcast studio (I forget if it was radio or TV). There were a large # of casualities among people who were non combatants by any definition, Classifying the studio as a legit military target was highly questionable & we didn't belong there in the 1st place.

Money wasn't the deciding factor. Both parties spent like drunken sailors (my apologies to any sailors on the board, & any drunks for that matter).
