You can compare raw numbers all you want, but putting them in perspective in terms of time periods is much more valuable, in my opinion.
Joiner, Swann and Stallworth's careers only partly overlapped with Monk's. It may seem close, but Joiner started his career in 1969 - a far different time period than 1980, when Monk began his.
Lofton and Largent played during roughly the same time period, but their numbers are the ones that really outshine Monk's (both with higher recieving yards and touchdowns). Again, I just don't see what those numbers really tell us.
