He is going to be the butt of NFL Network jokes again today.

I don't think you can do anything other than laugh with the guy. I don't think he is the but of any jokes more like a comedic character.

If we keep winning it will remain funny. If start losing it will be more embarassing.

We should be lighthearted about it. It is funny but the NFL is entertainment. I mean the NFL network covers the league year round, and it is partly for entertainment value. I like how Marvin Lewis handled the Chad Johnson thing by taking down his list and putting up his own list.

Gibbs doesn't seem to mind, so go right ahead. Remember when Riggins sported a MOWHAWK.

........and deservedly so. Does he have a clue as to how much an idiot he looks like after rushing for 9 yards against the Giants?

I wonder how the real players on this team (the ones that don't try to appease the media and fan dullards and constantly seeking attention from the drunk tailgaters)feel about seeing this joke while they are playing hard-- such as Sean Taylor and Santana Moss.

Portis is a horrible joke this season.

I wouldn't say he's a joke on the field. I do wish he would/could break a few more tackles but he's been putting up the yards. He looks better than last year.

I like it. It is a nice change of pace that he gives the team.

The problems:

Blocking
RB
Scheme
Play calling

Solutions:
Better offensive linemen
New RB
Change the scheme
Better play caller

Reality:
Our linemen aren't too bad but they don't seem to be living up to their potential. CLinton can hit the holes, he's not the problem here. Sustaining blocks is the problem and they don't do that.

I never felt Clinton was the right guy for htis situation. I always felt that we needed more of a bruiser and was sad to see Davis go. With our medicore blocking we need a guy who can break arm tackles without losing too much steam.

We can't alter the scheme, it has to be converted completely for Portis to be 100% effective imo. Clinton wont prosper in a Riggins scheme, he needs a Denver/Portis scheme and we can't have it both ways. When we run it up the gut it goes nowhere, we're simply doing it to keep the defense honest.

The play calling has been simple and very predictable. Especially on the goaline.

Geezz...lighten up!! I say, let the man be himself and be funny. The guy is a 24 year old jokester...nothing more, nothing less. I didn't see him doing this in the midst of a 6-10 season. He's just having fun.

Did anyone complain when Riggins sported a frickin Mohawk.

I bet Santana and Taylor are laughing right along with anyone who isn't so uptight. I think it's great. Portis is they type of guy you need on a team. He is unselfish and a character. Alot better than have negative downers like Gardner and Coles. Anyone who thinks Portis should stop is crazy. I absolutely love it. Especially after this week. Yesterday, after seeing his newest getup, was the first time I could even stand thinking about the damn team. He reminded me why I really love the team we have finally put together. They are having fun and it will show when they bounce back against Philly.

.........and when Portis has 15 yards and the Redskins get blown out or even lose AT HOME against the Fecals you won't be here talking up your hero.

No wonder the Redskins don't get any credit with idiots like Portis taking away from the others having a decent season.

All comes down to performance. Redskins win, and Portis plays his part, then he's a character. Redskins lose - he looks like an idiot.

Given that this thread has now run to seven pages, I think we can officially say you folks are giving these interviews way too much thought.

Okay... I'm now convinced that Clinton Portis ate BringThePain! The erratic behavior, followed by BTP!'s mysterious disappearance, and four TDs for Clinton Portis can only mean than Clinton Portis ritualistically sacrificed THN's Gammer Idiot.

Spooky, I tell ya. :?
