Awesome game today, I'm so happy the Skins are starting the season right.... it's about time and us die hard fans deserve it.
The only thing I don't like about Gibb's play calling is that after he gets a 7 point lead all he does is run the ball to eat away the clock. He did this the entire second half, the first half Brunnell looked great and his passing opened up the running game..... and we still ate away the clock. I think we need at least a 14 point lead before going to an all running attack, what do you guys think?
By the way, where was Arrington today?

I think the purpose of running and eating away at the clock was ball control and resting our defense, which in the begining of the game worked wonderfully. If we continued in that pattern we would have won the game easily. I think you guys are being a little harsh on the play calling. Check Hog Wash for info on Arrington in the game or lack of Arrington in the game for that matter. lol

by Philly is an Armpit
I haven't been to the board in a long-long time, but this season has rekindled my love affair with the Skins. They've still got a lot of room for improvement, but I like what I'm seeing.
Arrington is having issues with fitting in with Williams' schemes. There could be serious problem if Arrington doesn't get playing time. What the heck are we paying him for?

I saw the other thread on Arrington, thanks. I'm not trying to be hard on Gibbs' play calling, I just always see him do this and last year it bit us in the butt more than once. Look at our time of possesion in the first half, we dominated, and we ran and passed and scored. The second half we ran 90% of the plays and we still had better time of possesion but we didn't score.... and almost lost because of it.
I have just never understood any coach that changes his game plan when it is 100% working for the team, it's like the prevent defense, the worst thing a defense can do. A teams defense dominates an offense all game then in the last part of the game changes their game plan and goes to a prevent defense and almost loses or actually loses the game, it happens all the time.
If the game plan is working and you are winning, stick with it. Too many games are decided by a field goal these days so you should never give up the opportunity to score as many points as possible.
