Philthy are ominously thin at WR. I wonder would they stoop so low as to pick up D-Mac to find out what it is that Gibbs is doing to try and stretch the field a bit, and see what kind of schemes he's going to employ to taylor the Offense to suit Clinton Portis. I think D-Mac's heart isn't in it, and he's probably better off being cut. But, I hope that Gibbs and Co. didn't tell D-Mac EVERYTHING about our new and improved Offense. Is it possible they could withold that type of stuff to a player? I'd hate to see Philthy pick him up just to pick his brain about our revamped Offense.

I thought maybe Gibbs and Co. would wait till the very last cuts were made so it would give D-Mac only a little bit of time to brief whoever it is he goes to, or even allow Philthy time to get someone else instead of D-mac. I think there's a lot more to the D-Mac situation than meets the eye, but I completely trust Joe Gibbs' decision. D-Mac's work ethic has been questioned by the Coaching staff, and I wonder if he has a bit of a tood.

Anyway, I just hope he doesn't come back to bite us in the butt.

Id think that McCants knows a good amount of the offense but its not like he gets to take the playbook with him after he leaves.

Plus if we execute it wouldnt matter if they know the play or not if they cant stop it.

Buzz Dog wrote:I liked DM as well and I disappointed that it didn't work out for him here.

What doesn't make sense to me is the contract that he got before last season. I am led to believe that a.) Gibbs just overestimated DM's abilities (based on film study and feedback from the Snyder and Cerrato) before he had a chance to coach him or b.) DM just didn't put forth the effort that he needed to be a contributor on this team. The Skins are starved for a big receiver and the team had made a sizable committment to him, so the spot was DM's for the taking.

Either way, the contract was a big mistake.

It seemed at the time, that Snyder re-signed Dmac before Gibbs had really gotten in here and got a handle on everything. Almost seemed like a backdoor kind of deal at the time. I'm sure that didn't sit well with Gibbs along with some other things about DMac. Either way, he's gone and we got a great group of receivers who can definitely get the job done.

I will miss DM. Several posters predicted this situation since the beginning of training camp. I sincerely feel thya he is better than Dyson, who dropped a pass from Patrick against Pittsburgh, but I feel that the overall decision was arrived at as a result of different factors. DM did not fit Joe's system and philosophy. I wish DM great success as long as it is not against us.

The only person Dmac can blame for getting cut is himself. Its not like Gibbs had something against him. He thinks he's a #1 receiver but he's not. Yeah he had a good year but he just expected to be handed the job and not work for it. I wish him the best but I don't have a problem with a player getting cut whose more interested in coming out with a CD than playing football. (And it isn't even good)

That would suck sooo much. D-Mac in the same division? He knows everything about the Skins. Wouldn't be much help to beat the Eagles!

They are going after Price...

I don't think that he does know everything about the skins. I think if he did, he would have been a factor the last and this year. I can't imagine Gibbs cutting him based on him not playing special teams only. Not with our offense ranking 30th last year if he could help us.

Give it up. Gibbs is human. He doesn't like McCants, for whatever reason...it's personal...he's not "a Gibbs player"...whatever that means.

I heard someone on ESPN radio said Philthy was "in negotiations" with McCants.

That would suck.

Did DMac play Special Teams? I see that as Philth's only need for a #5 WR.

I hope that DMac does get a job and is very good for whichever team he plays for. As we now know, that will not be here. Even if it is a team we play twice a year we do know one other thing - he will not be a cause for concern to our D! He might want to consider that! Sean and Lavar and the others are not a group I would look forward to going up against 2 times a year.

If anyone can reach DMac I would suggest they ask him to talk with Pinkston about the boys on our D (yes! he of the short arms!)
