That's lacrosse, not hockey.

OK good guy, it is called an INTERNATIONAL sport. But what amazes me the most is that over the last few years the USA has put GREAT soccer and hockey teams in world championships...
... mostly to be ignored by most of the fans.
When the USA plays a Latin American team in the USA there are more fans for the visiting team than for your own. It is beginning to look like FedEx field under Spurrier...
...spooky!

I think that's were he's going... but I wanted to hear it from the horses mouth...
In return I will call him a bad basketball/baseball fan. Along with a poopy head...

There is a guy doing that -AND- he uses a stick to score TONS of goals:

I can see it very well thanks. It looked very strange on US tv networks when they colour-coded it for a while but I could live with it...

Point is: players and teams are one thing, and the strength of the fan base quite another.
Hockey and soccer have made great advances in the US but the fans have not supported them as they would in other countries with THAT degree of success. That's all.

I used to follow (but not be a fan of) the Pirates in the National, and the Orioles and later the Blue Jays in the American. But I have been mostly a fan of players and not their teams. That's what the lunacy called free agency in baseball did to many of us. I feel that St Louis is one of the most knowledgeable baseball cities in the US. But this is open to discussion if you want.
As far as basketball is concerned, I also follow individual NBA players. Dr. J has been the only good thing EVER to come up in a team in Philly. But to tell you the truth, I find College basketball to be far more exciting than the pro games in general.
And...
... I would call you a bad Rugby/Car Racing fan ...
...with an even poopier head but not as poopier as that of GF. There are limits even to that.

Look... every country has got it's sport or 2 and the rest are all fill in sports.... America is a Football and Baseball country, Canada is Hockey, Japan is Baseball, England & half the rest of the world is a soccer country...
You came off as if it was awkward for Americans to not fully support Hockey or Soccer... but it's like that all around the world....
whether you, personally, like baseball or basketball is insignificant... Canada as a whole does not fully support teams of the NBA & MLB organizations in Canada... not that thats wrong... that's just how it is... just like in America...we don't fully support the NHL or MLS

Two out of four is not bad. I suspect there is a longer tradition in Japan for Sumo but that is just me...
As far as England & half the rest of the world, I would make that England and 99% of the world...
But you guys are OK, as long as the Redskins keep on playing.

But you guys are OK, as long as the Redskins keep on playing.
But thanks for the kind words.
I wish that other people would stop getting on us American's cases just because we don't like to watch footie and love our football (and I've been outside these shores, and have experienced the hating first-hand).
We're just
sitting here; let me watch my Skins in peace and you go support your club. (impersonal "you" there, by the way)
Because in the end, there is no way that anyone is going to convince me that the Redskins aren't sport at its very finest.

It may be just me but I suspect that is a far more complex issue that you make it to be above.

Do not let -ANYBODY- even try to convince -US- of the opposite.
