Last with a bullet. Our D really, truly sucks and we have the players to be a top 10 D again. I've been patient so far, but this was just a pathetic performance. I'd like to know what we're supposed to be taking from this when you're just that bad and not improving in any way. What is the point of that?
Is it possible we can be worse this year than last?

I realize there's the scheme shift, but by the third week you have to be improving and clearly we're not. AC's obviously not an LB. He doesn't seem to be learning anything. This was just a pathetic performance. Last year the D kept us in games, this year it's keeping us out of them. No, the O was not good in the second half, but when it's 15 minutes between every time you touch the ball you're not going to get in a rhythm.
Yeah, I agree 100%. I put some of the blame for last week on Kyle Shanahan not getting the run game going and keeping the ball out of the Texans' hands, but I am now putting it on the D. This week just establishes how bad Haslett and his defense really is. There is no improvement. Why Carter is in the game a lot I don't have a clue. If you wanna use him put him at end on passing situations.
I like AC a lot. But he's a DE not an LB. If he's going to play LB he has to "blitz" (i.e., rush). He can't cover and it's pathetic they keep asking him to. Haslett's not demonstrating so far he has a clue about what he's doing.

I like him too, everyone including him knows that he is a great DE. At this point, I would rather us trade him to a team that runs the 4-3 and get something for him while we can. I would rather see him go out and play DE and succeed with another team than have Haslett put him out there to get completely embarrassed and outmatched every week.

I really hope Portis has something to say. The coaching in every part of the game today has me confused and frustrated.
The Shanny Post Game came and went and no answer was divulged regarding that subject.
I can't believe the playcalling on either side. It's like Kyle Shanahan said in the 1st half, "Well everyone says I'm not calling enough run plays so let me shut them up" and then returns to his same old ways.

Let's hold onto him because Haslett's on pace to be unemployed shortly and maybe the next guy will go back to a 4-3...

The call to go to a 3-4 was Shanahan's... not Haslett's. Haslett can coach either, and, while the prefers the 3-4, it wasn't his call.

I know...and this staff NEEDS to know that - Wise up Haslett and Shanny to the 2nd power.

Who's the next guy? I'm hoping for Dick Jaron.

So every player, and every post-game announcer realized that the Rams came out and got rid of the ball quickly. How come Haslett didn't adjust. If you're personality (aggressive, pressure oriented) overrides common sense (they are ready for it), maybe you shouldn't be considered a football mind, just a stubborn old man.

There seems to be a lot of things that everyone else see but the coaches. I couldn't tell you why though..

When you're the last defense in the NFL, perhaps it's because the coaches are just blind.
