WHAT????
Check stats dude, so ramsey hasnt thrown a pick, but hes moving the ball in the same slow methodical way brunell did and once we get to the endzone we fizzle???? I'm a Ramsey supporter from the get go, but you gotta wonder why the similiarties.
the reason for the similarities is obvious, first of all: gibbs was running a realllly scaled down offense, superconservative. how can ramsey move the ball downfield when gibbs gives him 3 tries all game? i expect he concentrated on that stuff since he only had a week to get him ready... we'll see some more aggressive plays in the weeks to come.
and though the plays were similar, ramsey looked SO much better than brunell, please don't insult him with that comparision.
just call it how i see it

verm04 wrote:Yes. Execution is (partially) a byproduct of coaching. I know you all seem to think Mr gibbs is some sort of coaching Demi-god, but he isnt... Dick vermeil went 4 and 12 in his first season when he returned to the nfl okay. These things take time. And if you think for one moment that a wide reciever in the nfl doesnt know how to catch a football that hits him in the hands.. then you really are on the wrong board.
I am not looking for somebody, Gardner or Gibbs, to lay blame.
Our OL has been in trouble for quite a while. The game plan kept us in it during the 1st half with good control of the ball. I will defend Ramsey and Joe until hell freezes over. But I understand our colective frustration. Our offense is -almost- as bad as the Pukes.

hey, we're down by 22 with 2 minutes left... let's throw a 5 yard pass!
if gibbs is still calling plays like this at the end of the year, he needs to get the axe.

Well, it looked promising for the 1st half. Can't say I really expected a win, but I was hoping for a better showing in the 2nd half. Steelers next - don't expect much there either.

Great point about the similarities about Reid's first year and Gibbs return this year. The difference is that Reid knew you build around a QB. Gibbs drafted a Safety and and not a QB to build around. It will be hard to get better with Ramsey at the Helm

ok i'll say it... gibbs may have lost it.. that or he has NO confidence in himself or this offense.. either, the skins are wasting a great defense and it will not be good for a long long long time.

We are easy to figure out.
Jimmy Johnson said it best, No other team is using max protect schemes and are sending out just two receivers.
Max protect = No blitz

i gotta say ramsey played well eventhough the passing gameplan was crap...i hope gibbs gets some confidence in him for next week and lets him throw the ball down the field a few times...

samuels needs to go, gardner must go, we need a center, and most of all a QB.. the ksins are going to be bad for a long time... gibbs wont get this right.

12 penalties for 115 yds....probably our biggest problem today.
Next week will be, I'm guessing, with Steelers, picks and sacks, but no penalties or bad ref calls. Portis will get 75+. Ramsey, 20-40 for 220, 1 TD, 3 picks.

You cannot have a deep throwing passding game when you cannot properly manage to complete high% passes. Dont forget that ramsey needs to develop timing with these wide outs. Timing matters. I dont know if you think they still have timing from last year, but they dont. In order to complete deep passes, you have to make short and intermediate ones. The team is a work in progress. Everyone is gona have to get used to not being able to overcome bad calls for awhile. I dont understand why people thought there would be no problems on the offense... The quarterback and wideout play has been subpar and the oline play has been sketchy at best. There is a lot to work on.

still too early to tell about the QB ramsey did what he was told to do and it was effective (he executed the passing gameplan almost perfectly)...unfortunately our running game did not show up so the dink dunk passing cant work without a running game if we established the run what ramsey did today would have been perfect.

Exactly!!!!!!!!!!!
From what I see thus far, this is a BS scheme, it took Dick Vermeil two years to figure it out.

3-10-PHI38 (12:15) D.McNabb pass to T.Pinkston pushed ob at 50 for 12 yards (S.Taylor). Play Challenged by WAS and Upheld. (Timeout #1 by WAS.)
--
I was unable to catch the first half, which I was told went well, as a 1 point deficit to start the 2nd, but plays like this..screwjobs..we can't do anything about challenges that are correct and are blown by the zebras.
Not to mention our O-line was shooting themselves in the foot. 1st and Goal at the 10, only to end up with a lame 48-yard miss.
The game ends, we're an insurmountable 3-7, officially with nothing but anger and frustration out of South London.
And one last thing..
OLA KIMRIN IS THE WORST F'N 'SKINS KICKER SINCE EDDIE MURRAY.
Anyone remember that 44-yarder at the end of a 2000 game that went short?? Kimrin plain sucks.

Isnt it possible that The coaching staff felt it needed to build Ramseys confidence in this offense before they wanted to go downfield? We have no real way of knowing how he felt in the offense as hes never really ran it with great success. Read any book on football or ask any coach and they will tell you the way to build a quarterbacks confidence is to use lots of high % passes.
