I'm really liking Davis, good player.
Good player, that we diddn't need...I feel like we were gonna take Calais Campbell with that pick then the Cardinals snatched him up 1 pick ahead of us.

I don't agree with anything said in that post.

If JC doesnt get his Crap together ASAFP, then im all for it. I seriously can not watch him hold on to the ball like he is rob johnsons slower dumber slower brother. At this pace he could become RoboSack 2.0!!!

I've been a JC supporter, but to have a rookie in a non-pro style offense make better reads and better throws is cause for concern. I understand that he'd playing vs 2nd or 3rd string Ds, but there are fundementals I'm not seeing as a starter. I'm just not seeing JC as being able to perform at a pro speed level.

Calais was said to be a 3-4 guy, which we can't use.

How can a pre-season game be a trap game
Read my thread. When you go into a preseason game expecting your starters to play a full half and be successfull and the other team is ready to pound your head in to the tune of 47-3 and all your quotes all week said "we're game planning" and "this will be a preview to what you see this season" and basically you prepare as if it we're the real thing when reality is you're headed for a slaughter, an embarrassing slaughter...that is a trap game.

Still ultimately a worthless game, so I don't agree.

It's not impossible. Cardinals run the 4-3 defense btw.

LOL, Joe. Says it's running into the kicker, then sees the ref make the holding sign and says "it could be holding!"

The game is worthless and irrelevant, but getting your star DE lost for the season is not worthless.

I said the game is worthless. I never said that implications
from the game were worthless. Of course any practice, scrimmage, pre-season, regular season, post-season, superbowl, and pro-bowl match in which injuries occur will have lasting implications, but the game itself is worthless.

Refresh my memory on the star older player signed after Gibbs left and the individual introductions never went anywhere.
Sorry...needed some additional clarification....have been made since the Jason Taylor signing and never really gotten over it. Signing a 32-yr old DE has trouble written all over it. And I'm talking Jevon Kearse, Bruce Smith trouble...guys who never lived up to expectations on new teams. I think it was all upon star power and marketing. Coincidentally, I wouldn't be suprised if the Danny didn't woo Taylor here by telling him that he would back him in his production company and promote him as an action star under his Venture Capital firm. We should have taken Calais Campbell back in the draft and we never would have been in this position. Instead, we choose two wide receivers that most teams had taken off their boards due to injury concerns (shocker they come in out of shape and get hurt quickly). If Campbell turns out to be a beast our entire scouting department should be fired.
As for the individual introductions, I'm talking about the pre-game. For those who don't go to the games under Schottenheimer and Gibbs, there were no individual introductions, the entire team ran out on the field together. Now, their back to individual introductions. Great, I really need to see Fred Smoot dance some more...that's what the game is lacking.
My point is less about the event and more about the message. Danny gets back in control and he can't help himself, he's got to market rather than win. Good luck with that mentality...it isn't working for Six Flags, and it ain't working here.

I don't think many rookies end up in their ideal situations. The big difference between a 4-3 defensive end and a 3-4 defensive end is usually the styles. 3-4 DE's are usally bigger power/run stopping rushers, while the 4-3 are more finess 3rd down rushers. I doubt he'll be that affected by the scheme in the pros.

Time will tell, but I don't think you draft someone who's strengths don't match your team's weaknesses.

No injuries to ANYONE is a chance you take at ANY POINT of the game, whether it's practice all the way up to pro-bowl. It's ludicrous to label a pre-season game anything else but.
And on that sad note, I'm outa here.... depressed as it is, maybe my wife can cheer me up!
