I just don't get why Gibbs and Co don't realize that every other team in the NFL keeps their foot on the gas when they are up 3 scores.

It seems to coincide with the "protect the lead" offense.

They're separate issues. The offense couldn't move the ball early in the first quarter, but the defense was still playing football. I don't get it - they look like completley different players.
