its where the player touches the ball and where he is at on the field. He was not in the endzone when he touched it first.

It doesn't matter when he first touched the ball, what matters is that it touched him while he was on the goal line they got the call right.

If someone from the kicking team illegally touches the ball and it still somehow bounced into the endzone...it would be a touchback. So that was a dumb challege that used our last timeout
