Except Foles beat good teams and whether it is a winning team, MNF or the playoffs, Cousins lays an egg.
Sign him, but don't spend a lot of money on Foles, err I mean Cousins.
No. Just no. Only five quarterbacks in NFL history have done what Kirk Cousins did this season.

Hahaha. You just listed comp percentage. He is a WCO QB that throws like 5 yards within line of scrimmage. Most other QBs go for it, make plays downfield and beat good competition. This is the kind of KC craziness that worries me.
KC beat one team with a winning record all year (Buffalo). Played the 4th place NFC East schedule and really showed his inability to step up on MNF and in the playoffs. If RG3 was sacked 5 times, fumbling twice and losing one and had 4 picks dropped, most would be all over him. And Im not trolling, those are just the facts.
KC had a 101 passer rating lower than RG3 in 2012 who was playing for a coach that didn't want him, behind a way worse OL, on the precipice of a 35 mil salary cap penalty and without the real franchise type player that the Redskins have: Jordan Reed.
Plus just looking at KC, his arm is soft. As soon as the guy has to stick a throw in there outside 10 yards he cant do it or the DBs have time to recover. He can float it over top pretty well, but that's it.
KC is the man here now, but if you think he has done anything to put himself in elite categories that is just crazy talk. He is way more likely to be Nick Foles than he is to be Drew Brees like you have in the spreadsheet. Way better QBs than KC who have actually stepped up and won something have fallen. don't think KC and his weak wins against nobodies are a sure thing.

Doesn't sound like Kirk is all in on returning... He "likes some things.." would suggest he isn't thrilled on other things. OR maybe he just feels disrespected by the FO for the benching last season and not getting a clear competition in camp.
I'm not certain there are many teams who are better prepared to make a run if only they had a serviceable qb..maybe the Rams, or Texans when healthy.. both have a better Defence then us, and better run game then us atm.
Maybe he is wording some of this as to get the Redskins brass not to low ball his first offer, idk... He definitely hasn't said anything along the lines of " I'm eager to get the deal hammered out so that we can focus on making the next step and avenging this loss with a playoff win next year," or "we will sit down and hammer out the fine print.. ultimately I'm a Redskin, and with the support I've gotten this year it shouldn't take long to come to terms- I want to be here, the team wants me here- I'll leave it at that, and let the numbers people figure out the numbers."
As we know, there's never a dull moment in the nation's capital...I'm sure Kirks agent has him playing some of these games to get the deal he wants- make em shake a little before the negotiations?
But, maybe just maybe, he has his eye elsewhere; and if the number doesn't match the one he has in his mind he walks! At this point I wouldn't be surprised to read about him entertaining other offers, even if just to fatten his offer here.<--- the sooner the better!

Fair point. He took advantage of very weak teams clearly. Of all the wins we got, only one had a winning record. Franchise QBs beat winning teams.

He is just negotiating. Do you know why the Redskins haven't released RG3? Bargaining position. It is the same reason why KC camp said they want RG3 released first. Its why the Skins floated the Franchise tag word. The Redskins want KC and he wants to stay. The NFC East is a mess and he doesn't want to compete against good teams in strong divisions and who can blame him? He consistently failed to beat good teams or teams on a big stage.
The Redskins should tag him or sign him to a cut friendly contract. If KC actually delivers as a franchise QB next year, then pay the man long term. But realistically, beating 1 winning team and getting outscored 7-32 after leading 11-0 in the playoffs is not a good sign. Not to mention losing to Cassel on MNF. Paying him the franchise tag for 1 year is worth it. KC needs to show more if he wants franchise QB money.

That's dumb, the tag IS franchise money!
*cut friendly? Like he and his agent are game for such a thing? Na

There's also supply and demand.. show me another qb with over 4k passing who made the playoffs... Ok, AND won a PLAYOFF game since that's your standard- who is ALSO looking to relocate.... I'll wait.

Cousins has repeatedly said that he wants to stay here and build on what was built this year, and how much he loves the DC fanbase. Naturally, everyone is taking the "go where I'm wanted" quote and running with it.

Both I and The Redskins FO want to sign Kirk Cousins ASAP and while I cannot do anything about it I'm sure that the Redskins are doing everything they can to make him feel wanted here - so, IF Kirk Cousins is a man of his word he will sign the contract
time to put up or shut up
The Redskins have done what you wanted - you have what you said you needed in order to sign - so SIGN THE DAMN CONTRACT

I'd love to negotiate with you...... after 20 minutes I'd have the clothes off your back.
And no, THE REDSKINS HAVEN'T RELEASED RGIII YET BECAUSE THEY CAN'T UNTIL THE DAY AFTER THE SB -- WHEN THE WAIVER SYSTEM BEGINS...
You are the most uninformed, inaccurate, delusional poster in this place.

What's your gripe with completion percentage? You know how many quarterbacks in league history have had seasons where they competed 69.80% of their passes?
Only five players in league history have started 16 games and done that. And no one gave a crap how they did it.

Where do they come up with this stuff? Really, that's how it works? You sign the quarterback and then you use the remaining cap space to fill out the roster? And the less you spend on the quarterback the more money you have for other positions? And it helps to have a good general manager who can find talent in the draft?
Not just anyone can write quality fluff pieces like this one. Give that guy a raise.

I dunno. Sally Jenkins told us that Kirk would never work out. She probably wants us to use our top draft pick on a new quarterback.

Have we been making contract guesses in this thread ?
Here's mine:
The low end of
5-6 years,
$90-$110 M, and
$30-$40 M guaranteed.

I'm not a bleacher report fan, but this article makes for some interesting reading ...
seems like the consensus is that Cousins looks good and he should definitely be the QB here this coming season ... but ....

No mention of Cousins not getting first team reps all offseason, no mention of DJax being out for a decent amount of the season, and no mention of Kirk having to deal with the albatross known as RG3.
No thanks.

I'm really confident that Kirk will be playing QB here in 2016 and I'm VERY glad that our FO will be putting the deal together and not some blind Kirk Cousins fans like we have here - we will not be making a bad mistake here, like we used to
btw - I don't place much value, if any, in bleacher report - I just found the article interesting - maybe because I'm not biased
you guys are funny sometimes

In their defense, their standards have improved dramatically, since the time they published one of my blogs...
