The problem w/ him is that he does not stick true to the plays that are called. It's like he only is willing to play on instinct. That's fine and all in college but this is the big league big boy. If you're out of position, you're going to get lit up. We've seen that happen too many times over the last few years. Last thing I want to see is Desean Jackson catching another bomb again for deep while our guy is running with the wrong guy.

Your quote above is not true, not even close, I don't know where you got your info.
I must defend my honor:

Interesting. I wonder what they consider a touch? I figured it was everytime he touched the ball; PR, KR, rush, catch.
I'm pretty sure that's it.
And I'm starting to agree w/cowboykillerzRED - who cares?
And the stat is correct. The center doesn't get touches.

I'm with ya Frank he kind of reminded me of LaVar freelancing around out there in the safety spot instead of the OLB. Speaking of safetys I know he's gonna be somewhat expensive but is very productive......Reggie Nelson FS 85 tackles 2 sacks 2 FF 4 INTS and 14 PDs last year for the Bengals. He was drafted as the second safety behind Laron that year by the Jags. What do you think??? Take a run or no?

Now that Orton signed with the Cowboys, I wonder if we'll try to reach out to another "vet" QB to backup RGIII OR resign Grossman. Also curious to see if we go after CB's or SS's in FA.

you know that there's going to be more than 3 QBs in camp - while Beck is under contract -I doubt he's the backup

i'm reading that we've signed Brandon Merriweather. thoughts? after the Haynesworth thing i'm not very enthusiastic about signing a player who stomped on another player or punched him or whatever it was he did at "The U".

If it's not for ridiculous money I like it.

i don't want to root for a guy who stomped on another player. not to mention the precedent has been set with Haynesworth that guys who stomp on other players might just have some character issues that not only make them hard to root for but carry over to their work ethic and performance on the field.

Haynesworth was a Bum..... JaMarcus Russell never stomped on anybody... he was a bum too.

This is actually a very good question...
I am not usually a "character" fan so I could care less if he's out partying or LARPing.
As long as this guy can produce on the field I'm all for it.

You think he knows
Redskins_Fanatic???
In fairness, I think Merriweather's lightening bolt is a bit more potent than R_F's)

from everything i'm reading this guy is a brainless, undisciplined player. combine that with the character issues and i have to say that i am repulsed by this move. ugh.

Did anyone notice that one of the hit they showed was a shot the head that drew a flag and probably a fine later. They showed the hit three or four times, but you can only see the flag come out on one.
That doesn't really mean much, just thought it was funny.
On signing him, ... Two thoughts. We deserately needed to sign someone and he seems like a high risk/reward type player/signing.

He was too Lavar Arrington for the disciplined Pats.
Bye bye Laron...

What character other then being undiscipined?
I like the signing, he's a talented guy who's taking a big salary hit over these issues. He's also young. It's a lot cheaper roll of the dice then Laron would have been. If he can get serious now and redeem himself he'll be a bargain. This is what Laron should have done.

From Wikipedia:
Shooting incident
On July 21, 2006 Meriweather was involved in a shooting incident when teammate Willie Cooper was shot in the buttocks. In self defense, Meriweather returned fire and shot at the unidentified shooters three times. Meriweather was not charged with a crime because his gun was owned legally.
Miami-FIU Brawl
During the Miami-FIU brawl on October 14, 2006, Meriweather was seen stomping multiple times on several Florida International players on the ground. Meriweather was ultimately suspended by the ACC and Miami for his role in the incident. It is believed that his actions during the brawl and the shooting incident may have caused his draft stock to slip.
I think, however, stomping on players during a brawl is much different than stomping on a player during a play... Still not excusable, but different...

Agreed on the brawl, and I said he was undisciplined on the field. That description of the shooting didn't indicate he personally did anything wrong. I'm not an expert on the guy and I'm not defending him, just don't know what he's done off the field.
