I know man.. I was just being cynical.

This one is over. The next two could be very bad tho

I can't entertain that idea, even hypothetically. If I can't be a Redskins fan, then I would just be neutral and not have a favorite team. I would just watch the game for the love of the sport.

Edit: However, I will always root against the Cowturds.

I've been a Redskins fan since 1967 (my birth). No other team will work for me.

And what's really scary is the game wasn't as close as the score indicated.

Come on guys, it isn't all bad. The Skins appear to be going for some records...record number of losses within the division...record number of losses on prime time...record number of penalties...record number of turnovers...record number of times being in sole possession of last place in the division...whatever they're going for, they're certainly good at being the worst!

Same here. Can't think of a team I can start cheering for. I would just remain a neutral fan too.

We are 1-3 and things are just about at rock bottom. Yes im pissed, disappointed, let down and frustrated but I look at last nights game as our mulligan and get the really...really...really bad game out of the way. Do I expect us to be 1-5 soon?. Yes. Can the season be turned around?. Most certainly!

That performance was so disappointing - I wanted Cousins to play really well so that when Griffin is ready to play QB in the manner that Gruden wants the Griffin doubters and haters will all see the incredible difference between a good back up QB and a good NFL starting QB

Griffin is not done guys he's just not ready to showcase his NFL skill set yet - it will happen and we will have time to add the players we need around him

unbelievable performance by Cousins - it dragged everyone down

No, there is plenty of blame to go around. I chalk it up to bad QB play, Oline being manhandled, injuries and playing 4 days later, missing DHall and money not being spent well on Rakpo. I know he was playing injured but, it seems he disappears a lot in division games. I wish we could have gotten a RT and our center doesn't look very good to me. So far except for this disaster, I feel good about our coach and I think no matter who was coaching defense, it wouldn't matter. ST is the most frustrating, I thought they were trying to fix that. We are not good enough yet. That Giants game was an eye opener. We suck. I do believe we can fix it though and play better.

What ever we do next off season I really do hope that they draft many and high at Oline. We can't ignore the Oline any longer. We also can't fix everything.

We've also got some serious work to do in the defensive secondary... we have problems that won't be fixed in one draft, alone.

I agree and my bad for not pointing out that this was a V bad game from the coaches and the players - EVERYBODY

Cousins is a V good QB - he had a terrible game but he's certainly not the weakest part of this group

it looks like we have a lot more work to do - VERY disappointing weekend ...

fwiw - the Redskins rankings for both total offense and total defense are the best in the NFC East after 4 games

Every QB has really horrible games. Let's hope Cousins learns from this and plays better against the Seahawks. My biggest worry going forward is our defense, especially the secondary. I'm chalking this embarrassment of a game to a young, inexperienced team, on a short week who didn't prepare well enough.

BEFORE Cousins threw a pick the defense had already made it clear that they were going to have a bad night ...

they made Eli and a couple others look a LOT better than they are

Oh I know. I would rather fix the Oline first even if that means getting burned on Defense. Teams don't generally let good olinemen go in FA. You can usually find DB though.

I think that if we draft well (assuming we have a top 5 pick) and keep all our picks this year, we could do some major damage in filling the holes in our depth chart. To the point, if our FO was smart, we could solidify our 2ndary and OL in 1 year and be a playoff team (assuming the QB position is ok).

I consider rounds 1-3 to be immediate impact players (when you have a good GM) --- especially if you have a pick in the top 15 of the 3rd round. We'll have Breeland, Amerson, and DHALL next year. They aren't the best, but good enough. We need an upgrade at the Safety position on both sides. I would focus 1 of those top 2/3 picks on replacing Merriweather. We need upgrades at 2 positions on the OL --- OG and RT. We should use our #1 on a top RT (only because top T go early) and the #2 on an OG or safety depending on what is best available. That being said, OG is a position that you can acquire decent talent in FA --- so I would heavily perfer a FS/SS pick at #2. If we can acquire someone via FA, that would make the draft easier. Safety is one of those positions that is difficult to transition from college to the NFL, but Clark should prove to be valuable resource in assisting in the transition. Depending on what we get in FA and what we draft in rounds 1 & 2, #3 should be on the best available between safety, DE, or OG.

The good thing about our team is that offensively, we only have a couple positions to upgrade. We are set at LT, QB, RB, HB, TE, WR, C.

On the other hand, defensively we have a serious weakness in the 2ndary --- so much so that it makes the entire D look horrible. It also doesn't hurt that our DEs aren't applying any pressure on the QB. How's this for embarrasing: outside of the JAC game, our D has 1 SINGLE SACK THIS YEAR. And this is coming from a defense that is based on applying aggressive pressure...... We need an upgrade at LDE at a minimum. Murphy can come in at OLB if Orakpo takes off next year. We need to focus our upgrades at FS, SS, and DE. If we can get impact players at those positions, we'll be at least a mediocre D next season (opposed to a bottom 5 as we are now).

If our FO is smart and makes sound decisions, we could be a playoff team. All we need are quality upgrades at OG, RT, SS, and DE. I may include FS on this list, but we have 5 positions to fill. To a quality FO, this isn't a huge deal, but to an inept FO, this seems like a 2-3 year gig.

Man, I hope so. Otherwise there seems to be a little bit of a pattern with him playing well out of the gate, then dropping off over a couple games. Its unfortunately the type of pattern you expect to see from a backup QB. I saw this pointed out about Cousins somewhere comparing it to last year. I'm just not eager to put much stock into anything we saw last year.

We had a lot going against us in this game. The short week, injuries, etc; To be honest, I was expecting a Giants win (just not a complete beat down like that.)

I'm just pretty discouraged overall. A Monday night game v. the Seahawks really isn't what we need to get Cousins back on track.

I said it once before, but I am very, very worried about Monday night's game. If you think the Giants pantsed us, imagine what an actually good team will do. This could be very disheartening. At least, there won't be any artificial inflation of expectations like there was coming off the loss to the Eagles. I still want to Kirk do well. But more importantly I want to see our defense show out well.

I know that you don't care about being correct in your posts ... if it's not too much trouble, would you mind explaining the difference between being CURRENTLY ranked in the top 10 "Total Defense" as of this week's rankings "as opposed to a bottom 5 as we are now" ... thanks
