Herein lies the proof that you guys don't know what you're talking about. What do you think the chances are that the Colts will restructure Peyton's contract in such a way that he gets anything close to $63M dollars??

Jesus! can you even read?

Dude. Just stop. It's getting sad.

You're right. I'll give you a break now. ROTFALMAO

And the PURE and SIMPLE ENDLESS speculation continues in the absence of substantial facts to discuss this issue.

Too much free time ... :D

Can't you guys at least wait until the end of the 1st week of March to continue this discussion with at least ONE more fact? Before you hurt each other's feelings? :D
Daniel Snyder has defined incompetence, failure and greed to true Washington Redskins fans for over a decade and a half. Stay away from football operations !!!

I'm cool with waiting. I know when I'm proven right, they'll just claim that the reasons for Condon not trying to restructure differed from the reasons I gave. Yadda yahddaa yadaa. It's what they always do (Adam Archuletta, Brandon Banks, Jay Cutler trade thread)

This is kinda funny that blogger is getting press about the QB situation...

Redskins DC Jim Haslett allegedly recently revealed the team's offseason quarterback plans to a fan writer for Redskins blog HogsHaven.com.
Writer "Rodskins" says he ran into Haslett at a club volleyball tournament, where Haslett allegedly said Washington is not interested in free agent Matt Flynn and is "seriously looking at acquiring" Peyton Manning. He also revealed (allegedly, of course) that the 'Skins are "very disappointed" in this year's crop of draft-eligible quarterbacks aside from Stanford's Andrew Luck and Baylor's Robert Griffin III, and are "strongly considering" making a play for the Rams' No. 2 overall pick. Predictably, Haslett has vehemently denied spilling the beans on the Redskins' plans. Never known as the league's most cerebral coach, it's entirely possible he let his guard down around a fan he should not have.

The most interesting thing about this post/report is that it fits with another media report that a "Redskins official" said that the "Redskins had made their choice" for a QB and the "fans will be happy."

The use of the word "choice" made me think either "Free Agent" or a less highly rated QB because neither of the Top 2 QBs are given to be there at #6.

Then again, Shanahan has been known to do a lot of crazy things to throw people off the scent. We will see. Let's go Combine!!!

Odds I just saw from Vegas:

New York Jets +200 2/1 bet $100 to win $200
Miami Dolphins +300 3/1 bet $100 to win $300
Washington Redskins +400 4/1 bet $100 to win $400
Seattle Seahawks +500 5/1 bet $100 to win $500
Arizona Cardinals +600 6/1 bet $100 to win $600
Baltimore Ravens +700 7/1 bet $100 to win $700
Houston Texans +900 9/1 bet $100 to win $900
San Francisco 49ers +1000 10/1 bet $100 to win $1000
Field (any team not listed) +100 1/1 bet $100 to win $100

The even money favorite is The Field which includes the Colts. I wonder about the Cowboys.

Why would the field be even money, but they are giving odds on what have to be the favorites?

Baisc math. Even in his prime Tiger was (of course) the favorite ... but not even money or better. Someone from the field is much more likely to win than the single best golfer in the world.

Latest odds:

Cardinals: 19% ($100 wins $250)
Dolphins: 16.5% ($100 wins $300)
Redskins: 13% ($100 wins $400)
Jets: 9.5% ($100 wins $600)
Chiefs: 7.5% ($100 wins $800)
Retire: 6% ($100 wins $1,000)
Seahawks: 6% ($100 wins $1,000)
Texans: 4% ($100 wins $1,500)
49ers: 3% ($100 wins $2,000)
Broncos: 3% ($100 wins $2,000)
Titans: 1.5% ($100 wins $4,000)
Team Not Listed: 11% ($100 wins $500)

Changes since opening odds . . .
$100 on retiring started off paying only $250, now paying $1,000.
$100 on Cardinals started off paying $2,500, now pays only $250.
$100 on Chiefs started off paying $5,000, now pays only $800.

I still like the Jets and the Chiefs. Jets might qualify as "one QB away," they have a good D, they have a good running game, they have pretty good WRs, and their OC is Manning's old OC.

Why Peyton Manning to the Redskins is all Smoke!!!

Post by Dub Money »

Just relax...do you honestly believe that we went threw nothing last year as Redskins Fans...Mike put us threw some of the worst times these few past years. Signing McNab, Staking his reputation on Rex and Beck. With that being said...he owes us one...He knows bringing in another QB even if it is Peyton Manning is way to risky. RG3 is our Guy! He already knows this. They are just trying to pull of a great deal with the Rams and use Peyton as leverage. If you look really hard at the situation, If Peyton signs with the Skins, he would play Eli Manning and the Giants, Peyton Manning on many occasions has said that playing against his little brother ELI has always been very uncomfortable. In Fact its even gone on record that the reason ELI didn't want to go San Diego when he was originaly drafted, was because he didn't want to stop his older brother Peyton from going to the Super Bowl every year. Peyton does not want to play in Washington!!!! I honestly believe that this a smoke screen for Mike Holmgren and Browns organization to have them thinking we are all in for Peyton, but on the back end we are finalizing a deal to move up to the #2 pick to get RG3. When it comes to the draft Mike always go gets his guy. Trust me....RG3 is his Guy.

Also think about Kyle Shanahan in this situation...do you really think Kyle wants to take a back seat...he wants to get his offense off the ground and established. Having Peyton will almost elimate Kyle of having any real true say in this offense, and i really dont see that happening. HAIL

btw - Dub Money - welcome to THN ... it's all up from here
Until recently, Snyder & Allen have made a lot of really bad decisions - nobody with any sense believes this franchise will get better under their guidance
Snyder's W/L record = 45% (80-96) - Snyder/Allen = 41% (59-84-1)

WOW. Sounds like two guys I really wouldn't want leading my team. I had heard the Peyton end of this in several other places, but hadn't heard the Eli part of it. Once you put on a uniform your only relations in the world are the guys wearing the same color shirt as you. If you're squeamish about playing against a sibling, I don't want you on my team because I can't trust where your loyalties lay.

This has got to be a first. I agree wholeheartedly with you.

If true, that just reaffirms my (often illogically held) belief that neither of them is as good as they are made out to be. I prefer my team's players to adopt a "between the lines, anyone wearing "their" jersey is the devil and must be killed."
I know he got a pretty good zip on the ball. He has a quick release. . . once I seen a coupla' throws, I was just like 'Yeah, he's that dude.'"

Welcome Dub Money, not everyone here is rude to newbies! :)

I hope its a smokescreen, that makes the most sense to me anyway. It's gonna be a pretty exciting few days ahead with free agency starting as well, we should start to get a picture of his plans from there.
