I haven't seen any 411 on that either

Chris Russle on ESPN980 is reporting Aaron Ross will visit the Skins.

I'm not a big fan of Aaron Ross' and don't view him as an upgrade personally.

Forgive me, but wouldn't it make more sense to go after a tackle replacement for old man river Brown, first rather than looking for a starter to simply bump Lichten(oh, forget it), Kory or Chester to back up duty?

Seems a better use of our $$$s.

Remember we'll be able to grab a very good player in the third round, and they may be very high on Smith. He held his own at the end of the season against very good talent

Agree. He's mediocre, lost his starting job, and only regained it last year because the starter got injured.

Picture his 4.39 speed in a 4 or 5 WR set. Somebody is getting open and if they use 4 or 5 CBs either somebody is still getting open or somebody is going to run.

I doubt people will be scared of a 40 time in shorts on a track that he ran four years ago, they will just look at his FB type yards per catch numbers he puts up!

Good call. Smith did show me he could play in this league. If you get me Grubbs and an upgrade at C in the draft, Smith might be ok at RT. I would definitely draft some depth for the T position in the draft regardless since out LT likes to hit the bong more than Snoop Dogg.

See what happens when you get a real quarterback? I suspect this fact plays a huge roll in a lot of player's minds, whether its admitted or not.

Grubbs will visit on Thursday if not signed and Mathis on Friday.... I think Grubbs won't be leaving NO without a deal.

For those of you who are looking how to properly type Pierre Garçon's name and can't find the cédille key on their keyboard...

Via Redskins’ public relations, you can create your own ‘ç’ by pressing ALT+0231. Or just copy and paste.

That's one way of looking at it. On the other hand, he'll be one of many 4.4 guys (conservative time BTW, not his best) on the field. In a 4 or 5 WR set no LB would have a prayer covering him.

Also, consider YAC instead of YPC. Guess what.

#1 in the NFL is Santana Moss with 505 YAC. #25 is Josh Morgan with 301 YAC.

... and at #8 in the NFL ahead of such players as Dwayne Bowe, Roddy White, Mike Wallace, Desean Jackson, Calvin Johnson, Mario Manningham, Andre Johnson, and Hakeem Nicks (all top 25 BTW) is

Eddie Royal with 409 YAC.

He leads the NFL with over 65% of his receiving yards as YAC.

This is exactly the trait Shannahan has been targeting in FA WRs.

http://www.coldhardfootballfacts.com/Ar ... catch.html

He is also an excellent return man. I hope we get him.

Those are 2010 stats. Santana really dropped off last year, esp with the injury

For what it's worth, in 2011
Pierre Garcon gained 366 yards after the catch last season.
Moss 175, Gaffney 172, Stallworth 106, Hankerson 41, Austin 24.

Well put DarthMonk and great info u found..
Is the Royal deal not completed?

I'm REALLY digging the speedy youth movement... Can't say I've ever used those words to describe our whole offensive unit.

Those stats are from the 2010 season. During that season he had a 10.6 y/c ave and according to that site 6.8 of that was YAC. So his average catch was less than 4 yards from the LOS. Boy that is a deep threat there!

It tells me he ran a ton of wr screens and quick slants. If he ran anything deeper the ball didn't come his way.

You would use a LB, SS, or a dime cb; maybe even a DE dropping during a zone blitz. A DC would never have to game plan for him. Let him catch passes ask day long.
