what most dan snyder be thinking as he signs those multimillion dollar checks for this coaching staff? knowing that the men cashing those checks don't even know basic NFL rules that even the casual fan knows. hey dan, great christmas gift for gibbs might be "coaching for dummies".

also, i am going to make a statement.... i am a 30 year old, die hard redskin fan... and THERE SHOULDN'T BE A RULE IN THE NFL THAT I KNOW AND GIBBS DOESN'T!!! i knew the second he called that timeout that it was a penalty... so did dick juron, so did the announcers, so did the ref. this just shouldn't be. my extent to knowing the nfl is sundays watching football, and reading my fantasy football magazines. yet it is hard for me to convince myself that i don't know more than a HOF coach with 50 years of football experience.

How could it be any clearer that Gibbs is done as a HC? I just don't see how he can be defended at this point. He's never going to lead this team to another SB, and he likely won't even make the playoffs again even if he sticks around for another year. Might as well bring back Spurrier at this point - it's an exercise in futility either way.

Pfffffffffffft. He's been doing that ever since he became the new & great owner. I think Dan Snyder needs a great Xmas gift as well "Franchise Ownership for Dummies".

I agree. Sometime between his first retirement as the Skins HC and becoming the HC the second time, his nuts fell off and he's gone senile.

you can't conclude that it would have been good, because he might have kicked it differently... more leg, lower trajectory, slightly different angle, etc... so we will never know.

True, and whether or not it would have been good it's still very disconcerting to know that our head coach would make such a ghastly boner in that situation.

The percentages are way lower for 51 yarders....and I have to guess on this, but I'd bet it's less than 50%. As opposed to 36 yarders that are probably more like 85-90%.

But this is not just about that one bad decision. This is about a pattern of making the same mistakes over and over again. It is inexcusable coaching, plain and simple...

What do you think would have happened if George Steinbrenner owned the Redskins?

Gibbs would have been fired in 2005 for losing a playoff game.....a loss because WE COULDN"T SCORE THEN EITHER.

There is nothing about the problems with this team that have been corrected in 4 seasons. Same old same old.

I have held out on supporting the ouster of Gibbs. But I think I am coming to the other side. His continued use of the prevent offense is killing this team. Bring in Cowher. I say keep Saunders and Williams (so Jason doesn't have to learn a new Offense again) and get rid of Gibbs and Vinny.

I just wish had some way of getting rid of Snyder. Maybe we should shout, "FIRE DAN SNYDER" at the next game like the lions fans did with Matt Millen.

you know what is scary, if we had a chance to do a straight up coach trade to some other team for the rest of the season... how many offers would we actually turn down. and we are offering up a HOF coach.

Head Coaches pick their own staffs. If Gibbs goes, and Cower comes in, he'll hire his own coaches....which in this case is probably a good thing. Jason needs a new offense to learn. And so do the rest of the NFL's defensive coodinators....because they seem to know it better than Jason anyway.

we lose a game last week that we game up 1 TD and no first downs in the second half, and lose this week while giving up zero tds and we only punt 3 times. it is simply unfair.

Dan Snyder runs the Redskins extremely well, he makes money hand over fist every year.

He runs the business, Gibbs et. al. run the football operations.

Unfair? More like UNREAL....UNBELIEVEABLE.

What is unfair is to expect someone to keep watching this slow, painful suicidal team self destruct week in and week out.

If anybody else in this thread finds, like me, finds the above VENTING posts unbelievably DISLOYAL and UNTIMELY at a painful week like this one, you can join me here:

The rest of you can continue bad-mouthing your team, or better yet, move on to another board, or better yet, move on to another team. I have no use for the likes that bite against their team, coaches, players and fellow fans during the lowest of points in a LONG time. Go away.
