Life is serious business. Nobody ever gets out of it alive. Any time they keep score or keep records it's serious business too. I expect a return on the investment of my time, energy, money, etc... into those things I follow. The Redskins have not been provding much return in recent years.
What I think is Pathetic and Sick is a Front Office that takes a guy who is ranked #7 at his position and anywhere from #40-50 overall at #16 in the First Round.
I don't know about you, but if I feel I am not getting a good return on my investment I sell and look to move my money elsewhere. Maybe you should do the same with the Redskins and football in general. Sell your jerseys, season tickets (if you are a holder), and just punt on football in general....maybe take up badminton instead. Lacross seams like it might be an up and coming sport, that may be a better investment for your portfolio.

We have 8 picks right now. I have a feeling we're going to move around a bit but that's just normal. I'm totally fine with moving, taking '12 picks in the middle rounds, etc. That's what NE does and that's why they have a stock pile of I think 2 or 3 2nd round picks this year. And let's just wait and see what happens this afternoon.

I wouldn't mind us trading out of our first 2nd round pick and getting a 3rd and another late round pick. I think that Shanny is targeting a QB who may be more of a project type guy like TJ Yates (can't stand Carolina guys) or the kid out of Alabama. I think with our 2nd, we'd pick up Hankersim from UF or in the 3rd, the WR from Hawaii who we had in twice I think for visits. I like the idea of the NG/DT from Hampton. Local kid too which is always nice to have on the team.

PAP, that's generally why I don't invest at all (at least on a financial basis). The jerseys and other memorbilia were destroyed years ago (probably about $3000 worth of it over the years). I don't have season tickets and never will.
Considering what I expect to come out of the CBA issue, I will likely be punting on football in general in the near future. Probably won't be taking up anything else either. Just more opportunities to end up wasting time, money, energy, etc....

Don't let the door hit you in the behind on the way out. Disagreeing with the pick doesn't bother me at all. Be upset with it all you want. But to wish the man to totally fail or worse, die, is just plain sick and pathetic. This is a human being you are talking about. Good Riddance!!

With these two pick in the 2nd round we're probably looking for any of these 2 positions QB, NT, OL, WR.
Not that I'm any expert, but these are the guys I would prefer in this order... if we go:
QB
Kaepernick
Dalton
Mallet
NT
Powe
Ellis
Paea
WR
Hankerson
Smith
OL
Wiesnewski
Moffit
Hudson

LMAO.. Imagine me selling, destroying, tossing my jerseys away.. HECK NO!
<-- will continue to buy tickets to games, will buy stickers/flags/magnets for my car, will buy the jerseys/gloves/hats/shoes/t-shirts/shorts/undies that say Redskins, will buy my kid Redskins stuff, going to the stadium TOMORROW to get my dog a Redskins leash..
Imagine me dissing my team becau our owner had personal issues or becau we didn't bring in more talented players.. yeeaaaaaaaa right!
I think our 1st pick was great and I'm looking forward to the rest of them. We have plenty of picks and hopefully we can keep a few for next year's draft as well. (or even bargaining chips for when FA opens up)
GO REDSKINS, OR SOME OF YOU "FANS" CAN GO HOME!

Oh, well, as a guy who lived in DC area since the age of 2, the REDSKINS are that important to me and I'd NEVER say I hope they don't win another SB.. by the way, wut the heck are you doing here?

I stopped buying stuff about 5 or 6 years ago because it was just getting destroyed. Last jersey and hat I had got about 4 mags worth of 9mm and 45ACP put through them after a loss a number of years back. Not worth the investment anymore.
langleyparkjoe wrote:Imagine me dissing my team becau our owner had personal issues or becau we didn't bring in more talented players.. yeeaaaaaaaa right!
This is where we differ, lpj. You're a fan of the team, no matter what. That's fine. I do not hold such ideals as unfettered loyalty to be worthwhile. I see fandom as a two-way street. It's my job to cheer, but it's THEIR JOB to give me something to cheer about. It's been a long time since this team has done that for me.

I think we've got too many of them, to be honest with you. Too many opportunities to screw up again, just like last night.

See, that's my feeling on sports and competition in general. If you aren't going to win, why bother playing? If you aren't going to dominate the competition and do it the right way, why bother getting involved at all?
I'm doing what I'm always doing here.... trying to bleed off/vent enough of the rage at what this team continues to do that I don't have a stroke from the increased blood pressure.

I am excited about the 2nd round tonight!!! We have 2 picks and should get good value with them. I wouldn't mind making a trade to gain a 3rd or 4th rounder though.

Hankersim from UF or in the 3rd
Frank!!! You're killing me. Hankerson is a Cane, NOT a Gator. That's about as low of an insult as you can say to someone.

I am excited too.. also very happy with the Kerrigan pick seeing as he will be an OLB playing opposite Orakpo and not a DE so he does fit our scheme which some other fans dont seem to be able to understand.. all it takes is 2 minutes of research on the kid too see what kind of player he is going to be and the value he is going to add to our D.. I cannot believe the opinions some have when they clearly know nothing about football or the players being drafted for that matter..
on a different note.. Im hoping to see us address our interior OL and WR in the 2nd round.. I dont see any of the QBs as the answer in this draft . Taking a QB for the sake of taking a QB is not the answer. Lets fill some other areas of need and address the QB of the future next year.

We can't keep putting off drafting a qb. You have no idea who is going to be available in next year's draft. The time to address qb is now.
