But wouldn't it be nice if the Redskins could lay a whupping on an opponent just once. Something like what the Eagles or Giants did to the Skins this year?

Cowboys, Eagles, Bears, Packers, Titans as well as close games against the Colts and Texans. A clear improvement over last year's results already despite blowing up our D, cutting cap hits and using our only two high draft picks on replacing QB and LT.
Cowboys: 1 hold call away from losing
Eagles: 1 dropped ball away from losing
hardly decisive wins. Not one game have we had the defense AND the offense play for four quarters in the same week this season.
1 additional win is not a clear improvement. How many 'close games' did we have last year? We lost 7 games by 6 points or less, 5 games by 3 points or less.
And I'll give you Trent Williams, but I will not concede McNabb as an improvement for a rebuilding team.
Fair enough,
but last year:
Cowboys, we didn't win...twice
Eagles, we didn't win...twice
Last year, 4 wins in 16 games
This year, 5 wins in 12 games
You asked what we accomplished on the field. We did accomplish winning, last year we didn't. That your valid point they were close doesn't counter that we did win. And BTW, most NFL games are close.
I don't think that we'll win another game... maybe 1. but it's a big uphill battle.

You could be right, I was looking at our remaining games and all are tough

And I forgot to respond to this part...
Cowboys we've played 1x only so far.
Eagles we split, but they set records on us in our own house.
And how is 5 games winning and 4 games not winning since we're comparing right now?

I meant we accomplished winning more then we did last year

And again, I don't see winning 1 more game as anything to brag about.

In itself I agree, but with everything we were dealing with at the same time and that they were all against quality opponents unlike last year, it is

I'll agree to disagree then.

Actually, interestingly enough, 2 of the 4 wins from last year were against teams that beat us this year (Bucs and Rams)....

We may have lost the game, but the Bucs didn't beat us.
