I feel like I saw this math problem on my SATs. Damn that's ridiculous :)

And yards in the air only counts yards past the line of scrimmage, if that helps.

Yes. But most of his passes are about the distance between your left hand and your right one as you type, so there's that.

Well, the stats say in 2015 he's currently ranked 14th in yard per attempt. That's in the top half ot he league. Better than:

Matt Ryan
Eli Manning
Matthew Stafford
Joe Flacco

In 2014... Kirk was third in the league in yard per pass attempt. Only behind Aaron Rodgers and Tony Romo.... So.... There's that.

And when Kirk hits Matt Jones behind the line of scrimmage, and he runs for 72 yards, there's that too. Stats can be misleading. Kirk is getting steadily better, and he's starting to hit guys in stride more often, but he still has his moments of accuracy issues.

hah. I just didn't quite get it. They didn't bench him because of the $16m salary next year. Its not the only reason - its not a reason at all, right?

The NFL.com number is just Yards per attempt (Y/A), not yards in the air. So a pass thrown 2 yards but the receiver then runs for 8 would count as 10 for Y/A purposes, but 2 for yards in the air. Plus NFL.com stats for Y/A include folks who don't throw many passes (note the leading player in that stat is a RB from Tennessee who has thrown 1 pass...for 41 yards).

Another factor to consider is how much of that is due to Gruden's offense. Gruden likes his short passing game.

It's hard for me to place individual stats in context without the game film. But if we're going to take stats in a vacuum then Cousins is either Tony Romo or Brian Hoyer. I just hope we pay him like Hoyer, not like Romo. 8-[

I'm also going to beg for an increase in the limit to the number of quotes embedded within one another. Three is forcing nearly every good replay to be manually edited. ;furious;

Try poking around Football Outsiders' website. They have an advanced stat called ALEX that deals with this exact issue, e.g.: http://www.footballoutsiders.com/alex/2 ... own-passes

we don't know a lot, or even much at all about the deal with Griffin but IMO the $16M is not a big part of why he's not active, if any - Gruden does not want or need Griffin to play QB - that choice/decision was made before the opening game - there's no shot he's active in 2015

the point was simple - Gruden has 2 choices at QB because in September, Gruden knew that RG3 was not ready to play QB

to think that Gruden is still considering using RG3 or is making a choice between Cousins or RG3 is just ludicrous

I'm a RG3 fan - while some want to post (IMO) stupid stuff about Kirk Cousins, I will post equally stupid stuff as well - I've changed my opinion about Cousins but I'll continue to go after posters that cannot let go of their hate for RG3

it's over already - let it go

Actually, he was already active for one game this season. I think it was Tampa, but not sure. Not that he was going to play, or will be activated again.

Why do you cling to this "stranger things have happened"?

Every single (what I'd call) reputable insider has said that Griffin is gone next year. Mike Jones pretty much confirmed this in the mailbag for the WaPo today. He said Gruden and SM have moved on from him.

Oh Goody! Good for you .... I'm happy things are working out ... :puke:

I'm not clinging to anything EXCEPT to poke fun at you and your kissing Cousins buddies here ... how's that going by the way?

I certainly do not miss being in that area & having to put up with the constant BS, lies and misleading stories that you all get, ad nauseum

sorry riggofan - you haven't made it into that "club" yet, IMO - I read a lot more common sense and caution in your posts

Take it easy there. You have been wrong SO MANY TIMES before. Why would this one hurt anymore than the others? I'd thought you would have been quite used to it by now.

I'm not bothered at all by posters that know nothing .... :D

NEWS FLASH - this is a fan's web site - show me an opinion that's "wrong"
we're entitled to have an opinion and it may be misguided but it's not wrong

I'm entitled to post anything I want as long as it's within the guidelines we have here

And those are probably the ones that typically disagree with you, which means they're the historically stronger and more accurate posters here.

I just hope you have absolutely no respect for me --- like less than none. Honestly. I prefer it that way from the types who generally dislike others mainly because those individuals disagree with their personal (and typically "misguided") opinions.

Also ---- opinions can be wrong.

If you don't like the fact my "opinions" tend to be overwhelmingly more accurate than yours, well, that's your issue.

I can say this, your opinion of me is probably the only thing you won't contradict yourself on......
