There was a report that Eric Winston couldn't pass the team physical this year. Since he's not missed a game in 6 years, I'm not sure what that's about.

I'm in favor of Merriweather. We need somebody nasty in the secondary. And, we need to keep Reed Doughty out of the starting lineup by any means necessary.

Considering a number of teams jumped in on him right away I have a hard time believing that there is anything seriously wrong with him physically. Besides, physical problems haven't stopped us in the past (i.e., trade for Brown).

I live in Bears country and according the 670 the score he was benched because he wanted to free lance a lot which is why he can get picks but he's out of position a lot. He's also been hurt and has character issues.....he was the safety at Miami that hit that opponent from Florida A&M maybe??? in the head with his helmet. I would rather us go after Reggie Nelson who was the second safety drafted behind Laron that year from Florida and with Cincinnati last year he had 85 tackles 2 FF 2 sacks 4 Ints and 12 PDs excellent in coverage and a solid run supporter will probably be expensive but I wouldn't mind him the way our secondary looks right now.

Winston had ankle surgery in Feb, which is why he couldn't pass the physical at the moment. But he was expected to be back in times for minicamps.

Hey bro, I don't think its even remotely close to panic mode yet.. I'm sure the coaches understand the importance of re-signing him but they probably just want to firm up some other pieces first.

London's no dummy and he knows that his end time will be approaching, they probably have already started negotiations.

My call is don't worry about London, he'll be back.

No worries. He'll be back. That there is no news is probably a good thing. Cerrato would have signed him a month ago to a huge deal. Now, we're letting him go out and find out what other teams would sign a 38 year old middle linebacker to
