My synopsis:

JC: Hindered by online but made some great throws. Not much help from butter fingered WR's. He's gotta feel the rush a bit better.

Betts: Stuffed like a turkey, not his fault.

Moss: The usual beast.

Randle El: Not a #2 imo, dropped a pass he shouldn't have. I think locked in at #2 stifles his usefuleness as a gadget guy.

Heyer: Good considering...

Jansen: Got spanked a bit.

Landry: Playmaker, never should leave the field.

Fletcher: There's no doubt he's an upgrade. He's a beast. I predict 2-3 good years out of him.

Blades: Dumb version of Fletcher, will eventually be a replica for us. Beast.

Taylor: Wasn't needed. LOL.

Carlos: Didn't get beat.

Shuishy:  No competition, missed FG. Cute girls at scrimmage made fun of him and broke his confidence. No joke.

Defensive line: THEY'RE BACK! So far...

On the radio, it sounded like Frost was making good punts? Also, they called one completion as happening in front of Smoot, but that's all I heard of him. Anything interesting?

Yeah, someone caught a pass on him. Nothing special.

I think the O-Line needs to heal themselves and Brunell can't help us at the #2. Thats been obvious since last season. I was all for Collins being cut be I think Brunell should be pending what his cap ramifications are.

Suisham looked great tonight. He even got some of his kickoffs into the end zone. When was the last time we saw that? Sign that guy to a long term contract!
Wrong thinking is punishable.

Who is this clown in the booth with Faulk? He's such a tool/puppet. Everything he says is negative about the Skins.

This is a drug free zone...JK

Seriously. Brunell is washed up, that's obvious. we can't rely on him for anything anymore, our backup should be Collins. I didn't see Campbell play tonight, but Collins moved the team well and scored a TD. How long has it been since we saw downfield throws like that? Too long. Way too long. Bad QB play is a BIG part of what ails this team.

Campbell was obviously not ready last year, and if he couldn't get us anywhere tonight he's still not ready. If it wasn't for Collins, we'd be at goose egg again. I say give the productive QB's their due. You can ruin a QB like Campbell if you try to bring him along too fast.

I didn't see those but 47 yarders are hardly a gimme. Kick off out of bounds is bad alright, but not a shooting offense unless it becomes a habit.

One thing that has been seriously killing us is bad field position from short kickoffs (10-20 yard line). Suisham was booming them into the end zone at the end of the night. This guy is a keeper.

Cut Brunell, move Collins up. I hope Jansen's better than he looked and Saunders ought to be looking around for a new left tackle behind Samuels..

News Flash: About three unknown WR's looked better than ARE, who dropped a big one.

Campbell was better than stats. Two beautiful long passes dropped .

Loved the enthusiasm of the new guys and hope a whole bunch of them make it. I'm a big Thrash fan but he's not as talented as some of new guys.

Blades, the new Rocky, and London really impressed me. I love our linebackers, even Marshall. Washington as expected.

My impression after first game: I'm now a whole lot more worried about our OL than our DL. I was not expecting that.

I was there tonight, first thing is our defense is light years better than last year so that is a positive, second our offense was not in rythym Jason had a few plays where he had a man just didn't get rid of it in time. But if you watch the whole game was played at a snails pace, if we go into the reg season looking for game tempo like that we are done for. But Jason had some nice throws in there and I thank God he's ok after the delayed blitz that game from the blindside and nearly killed him. I think we do need some more game reps for Jason and he could very well struggle early, of course our run game was not picking up where it left off, at the end of last season Betts was breaking runs off of 8,10,15 a pop, tonight it was 2, 4, 5. I don't want to put to much emphasis on this game tonight but WE DID WIN THE GAME hats off to Collins. Todd Collins won the game for us I still can't believe it.

ps- boonell was garbage...surprise surprise

Maybe the starting O-line should be chained to the blocking sled till the season opener.

Okay, it's 2:00 AM and I just watched the game on DVR. I didn't feel like reading through all of the posts on this thread, but I'll post my main 3 observations.

1. OL played like crap. Didn't open up holes for the RB. Pass protection sucked. They need to work on pass protection now.

2. DL played very well. In fact, I'm very pleased with the defense in general, especially Fletcher.

3. Campbell had some good passes but he's gonna need to learn how to hold onto the ball when he gets hit. I don't like that he fumbled both times when he got hit.

Oh, and our punt coverage could use a little help, too.

Watched the entire game at a bar here in Orlando. O-Line looked disastrous. Defense looked very stout although it was Tennessee. The boys on the defensive side of the ball were trying to kill people. Landry looked good. We still can't get an easy pick. Offense looked weak. Marcus Mason did very well. He should make the team. Special teams coverage was horrible but the punter Front was kickin bombs. Thank god for the win! Stephan Heyer needs to wake up or get lost!

so i watched the 1st quarter and the last quarter cuz i had to go to work in between really quick.. but from what i saw it seems like Campbell misses Samuels protecting his blind side. both times he fumbled was when he was sacked from his blind side. but over all it just seemed like 05. offense played like crap all game but our defense kept us in it and we some how pulled it out in the end. I mean the crazy fumble was pure luck. haha and the fact that the D-lineman totaly knocked the crap out of the QB. but it is just one pre-season game against the titans and we have no portis. so im stuck wondering what i was wondering all training camp. how good are the redskins really?

Just finished reading some reports on the game, and it's hard not to be a little worried - here comes deja vu.

This year, teams are going to come after Campbell with lots of pressure, because everybody does that to a young QB. If the o-line doesn't take several big steps forward from last night, then we're in trouble again. Samuels is obviously a huge part of that, but I'm a little bothered by Jansen as well.

Even if we ignore the pass protection problems, surely the o-line should be able to block for the run at this early stage?

Yet again, I'm reading about dropped interceptions and missed turnovers by the defence. Again, there might be some breakdowns and miscommunications at this time of year, but surely they should be able to catch the ball?

It sounds like Campbell did well enough when given time. The best way to deal with the fumbling "issue" is for the line to cover his backside.

Encouraging sounds being made about the defence, apart from the lack of turnovers. Landry and Blades seemed to do well.

Overall, I am not encouraged. I still only have my natural optimism to pin my hopes on. Let's hope for something more positive from the offence next week.

I share the concerns but I think the key stat this time was the W - its no secret thats what we went for and however unsynchronised at times , we got it. The O-line now knows its off the pace and has serious work to do. Any free agency options still out there ? - worried about Wade at LG.
