You can't be serious with this statement on Chad Johnson. He's no Roy Williams or Jevon Walker. Wait a minute, you're right because Chad is one of the best recievers in the game. Last year, he led the NFL in most catches of 40 or more yards while he also had the most yards in the AFC. He took on Champ Bailey this year and got 7 catches for 149 yds and a touchdown. Please feel free to try to convince Gibbs and Williams to leave either Smoot or Springs on him one on one. We Bengal fans would appreciate it.

Chad is a great receiver but his mouth takes away from his play.

This guy talks before games start. During, and After. And when he is talking he usually is not backing it up.

May I remind you of the Pepto-Bismol incident. Talks all week then gets shut down by mediocre corners.

Our D talks a lot too. But during the games, and after a big play only.

Don't worry about Chad being one on one. He won't be. And while he is double covered tell your by Marvin Lewis to make sure he picks up the blitz.

Chad is not great..well maybe a great crybaby. Did you see him pout against the pukes?? He had one good year and now he is Jerry Rice...gimme a break. You will find out one good receiver a team does not make. Look at steelers and eagles last week. If you want to highlight his game against Champ I must highlight his total ineptness against the pukes. Consistency makes you great not flashes of brillance.

How do bengal fans become fans of the bengals? Well ill tell u my story. I'm from vegas and theres no pro sport teams here so my first team i was ever on was in tball the reds. That was in the mid 80's. Thats when the bengals were good. Thats when i started liking them, cuz i was young and i just started liking everything cincy.

moving onto the game. Heres my only smack talk - brunell sucks and so does ramsey. If ramsey was in there u would get more yards, but more turnovers. Brunell is just having a terrible terrible year.

Your defense is tight. Your dline is nice along with our corners and young safeties. Your linebacker core is ok but nothing great cuz lavar is out. We'll only challenge u deep if its in man which i doubt u guys will play. Im guessing only 1-3 deep balls. Perry will be playing most likely and will be a threat out of the backfield on 3rd downs which we havent had all season. Our 3rd down percent is terrible along with our redzone scoring percent. He will help. Our tight ends have been terrible until last week, lets see if they break out of their funk. Chad is having a great year considering the circumstances. We have no other solid Wideout.

Carson isnt being retarded with the deepball any longer and is being more conservative which i think will definately help vs u guys. I see him throwing 1 pick though mb 2. If 2 then we lose big. Our run D is horrible but thats all our D really needs to focus on with ur o...our corners can play man and our safeties and linebackers can pretty much go for the run first. We should contain portis to 130 yds but mostly between the 20's. Brunell will once again be terrible, im guessing 2 picks for our D along with 1 ff. This game will be low scoring and close. We're hungry though.

um who are the pukes? cowboys? if so, he had 8 catches for 74 yards. this ineptiveness? Go look at ur receivers avg's and if chad's stat is ineptiveness, whats ur's?

Chad is a top 5 receiver in this league, this year even with a rookie qb he has over 600 yards and 40 catches so far. His TD's are down but thats expected. Wait till later in the year and next season, chad's gonna blow up cuz palmer will be getting better and more confortable.

Youre bragging about 80 yards when the cowpukes let Schobel go for 80 all by himself. With that secondary Johnson should have had 180 yards. He will have a much more difficult time against Smoot, Taylor, and Springs.

From Reds to Bengals mmmm...

Bengals had ONE good season in the 80's. Boomer and A. Munoz have been the most memorable Bengals in my mind. The list of frustrated players leaving the organization for greener pastures elswhere is enormous over the last twodecades. Takeo Spikes and Corey Dillon are only the latest group out of Cinci.

Marvin is a great coach. I like him a lot. He will introduce a TEAM spirit which was sorely lacking.

As to liking all things Cinci, there was this drop-dead gorgeus Cinci girl I once met that ...

Ooops this is a PG board.

Not all things are bad in Cinci, and I am not talking about Marvin only.

And naaaahhhh, the Skins will have no problem RUNNING over the Bengals.

[quote="VA Bengal"]Let's break this down...

These are the top 3 receivers for each team. We have the edge here. You're lucky Warrick's out.

We are LUCKY Warrick is out ????

A stiff breeze could put Peter out for a month. If Sean Taylor looked at him the wrong way he would need an ice pack. He and Santana Moss are a couple of the most brittle Wr's in the game.

I can't see your team scoring over 10 points all game. So pray for a windy game to hamper Ola from kicking Fg's.

u need to pray for some wind with graham kicking the way he is. Peter is a very good redzone and 3rd down receiver which we sorely lack. U guys wont run all over us, not with no passing attack whatsoever. U have the edge in the top 3 receivers on roster...wow, too bad u have no qb to throw to them, mb clinton can pass again :)

lol if u think johnson isnt a top 5 receiver. U obviously think hes not as good as he is cuz hes on the bengals. He makes great corners look like chumps in man. I hope the skins do man on him...oooooooooooooh i hope so. Hes the only receiver that needs to be covered every play in double or blanket defense. Not even moss garners that.

I only have ONE question:

How does one get to become a Bengals fan???

I mean, my heart goes to you guys. Talk about fan loyalty in the face of total and abysmal hopeless circumstances over their entire history. I have to respect that!!!

But, really, What made you become a Cinci fan?
The name? The uniforms? A. Munoz? Are you from Cinci? I mean, there has to be something.

Well, a little bit of everything. I'm from Central Ohio which is pretty much Browns country and I've always loved their uniforms. I don't know....they've just been my team ever since my first year as a football fan in the 88-89 season, when I was 6 years old.

i definately think johnson is one of the best in the league, but i must say randy moss will catch the ball with 3 men on him. anyways, i dont think johnson will dominate like you think he will against the redskins, we're #5 against the pass and thats pretty darn good if you ask me

It's funny that you should say that Brunell is going to turn it over when Carson Palmer has 10 int's as apposed to Brunell's 5. Do the math that's twice as many.

Hey Guys guess what There is a QB with a worse rating that Mark Brunell. Carson Plamer.

Your Defense is last against the run.Playing better my butt. Ask Detroit fans, who happened to be doubting CP last week, the kid is no joke.

I repeat you guys are 3-5. So you can keep throwing your damn stats out there, but the bottom line is you have the same record as we do.

BTW Your 3-5 too. And You happen to 0-4 on the road. And if you have yet to look at the schedule. This weeks game is at Fed Ex field.

Good points, these all show how silly this argument is. Also, just so VA Bengal hears this again, PATRICK RAMSEY is NOT the 'Skins QB, MARK BRUNELL is! If Ramsey was, you'd be toast.

BTW, your offense, as great as it is in your eyes, is ranked 25th in the league, that's almost as bad as ours. You have some good young players but they don't always put it together. At least our D is #1. They're going to blitz Palmer a lot and make him throw a few more ints. If you're last against the rush, Portis is going to have a field day, too. For every argument you make, there is an equally valid one we can, so what's the point?

One thing is for sure, nobody can call Bengals fans, bandwagon fans. I take my hat off to loyalty and perseverance. Marvin will take you to the promised land, just not this coming Sunday...

Look at the numbers ...
Johnson 8 games 14.2 Avg. ypc 2 TDs
Walker.. 6 games 17.0 Avg. ypc 7 TDs
Williams 5 games 14.6 Avg. ypc 5 TDs
I could rest my case here seeing as Johnson has less TDs than both Walker and Williams but you'd say something like well his avg ypc is lower because he's played more games but then shouldn't his number of TDs be higher than theirs?
But I'll play along let's compare him to someone that has played the same number of games he has, even better lets compare him to a Redskin
Johnson 8 games 14.2 Avg. ypc 2 TDs
Gardner 8 games 14.7 Avg. ypc 5 TDs
Not bad for a guy who "doesn't have a QB to throw it to him"

Not bad numbers but NOT top 5 numbers
YARDS
1. J.Walker GB 783
2. J.Smith JAX 703
3. T.Owens PHI 750
4. I.Bruce StL 694
5. A.Johnson Hou 693
Maybe a top 5 reciever in the AFC but not in the league he ain't
CATCHES
1. A.Gates SDG 54
2. D.Mason TEN 52
3. H.Ward PIT 51
4. E.Moulds BUF 47
5. A.Johnson HOU 45
And that's ONLY the AFC 44 catches wouldn't put Chad in the top 10 in the league

You obviously don't know ...

Could it be that his numbers are down because of
a) a 1st year qb is throwing to him.
b) Warrick as a possesion reciever was vastly underrated and did not allow teams to double and triple team him consistently.
c) both

Champ Bailey who is considered the BEST cover corner in the league couldn't contain him and even stated after the game that he was one of the best recievers that he has ever faced.

On a side note, how's Sean Taylor working out for your team?
