and for BRUNELL to suck !!! hopefully PORTIS carries the load and if we have to pass let PORTIS throw the ball.PORTIS must have at least 25 touches for us to win.

"Bengals", huh ? In Virginia, no less ?
Huh. And here I was, feeling out of place being a Redskin fan in New York.
I find it interesting that you root for the Bengals, so humor me here for a minute.
What turned you on to Cincy, and when ?

im a bengal fan in vegas. and ive never lived in cincy. no one understands it :)

we'll win on sunday, 16-10. Our D is getting better, 3 rookies starting and 6 playing significant time. We have alot of speed on D and force turnovers cuz of it. Ur D is scary but i dont think carson will be too aggressive besides a few bombs.

Good for you. Stick by your team.

I think that the Redskins will win, however.

For me, I feel a great deal of satisfaction in watching Marvin Lewis bring that team around. He took all the guys who really didn't want to be Bengals, and let them leave.
It's a Gibbs-type approach, and has weathered well over the years.
I'm not the type to predict winners and losers by scores, but I truthfully see a Redskins win here. The offense has to break out sometime.
Why not now ?

Well, I'm in the Air Force...stationed @ Langley AFB. I grew up in Newark, OH(about a half hour from Columbus). My first season watching football was the 88-89 season. I was in first grade. Honestly I started liking them because of their uni's and just kept on following them.

I remember going home and crying after Joe Montana ripped our hearts out.

First, thank you for your service to our country. We're all proud of you guys, here and over there. Keep up the good work. We're counting on you.
Secondly, Montana was ripping out everybody's heart in those days. It was almost time for Young to come in, and for Joe to go to KC, but he stuck around for at least another season after that, didn't he ?
Oh, for that one magical year, Wyche had his boys ready to rumble. Remember the "Ickey Shuffle" ?
It looks like the Bengals are finally on the way up. Sadly for you, they have displayed a tendency to do their best work on bigger stages than the one coming Sunday. If it's at all possible to say this about Cincy, they also seem to play to the assumed level of their opponent.
This week, it's Washington. Nobody fears us. Chad is probably regarding us as a bye week. That's fine by us. I see a Washington win here, since our guys know Marvin, but Marvin doesn't know our guys anymore. He may be familiar with Williams, but I consider that a non-factor. "Coaches don't play..." you know, THAT old chestnut.
It'll be a good game to watch if you're a fan of either team, but isn't going to draw any nationwide audience.
I do want to wish you good luck, though. I have absolutely no bad feelings one way or the other for the Bengals, and I hope the rise isn't an illusion.
Take good care, Airman. We'll see you around for a few more days, anyway.

I have no idea who I am going to pick here, but I do know if we can stop Portis, than we have a great shot at winning this. Our defense is improving, so we may just shut him and Brunell both down...

You could shut Brunell down by tapping his left shoulder, causing him to snap his head to the right and injuring his neck.
Portis, forget it. He's in a league of his own.

doroshjt wrote: What happened to Marvin Lewis's Defensive Dominance? Advantage SKINS!!!!

Can you belive there was a clause in his contract when he was a coach for your Redskins that dictated that before leaving the Washington coaching staff, he must surrender any and all defensive dominance he may have on his person at the time!

I cannot believe you guy's aren't aware of that, seeing how he brought it from Baltimore and gave it to the Redskins! But your owner is pretty savvy, and made sure if Marvin left, the "D" did not! Now he's starting from scratch again trying to build it as he goes. IMO he defensive coordinator Leslie Frazier (from the '80's Super Bowl Champion Chicago Bears) sure ain't helping him too much!

So...the 'Skins have the leagues #1 defense? Even better than Baltimore's right now huh? Yet you have the same record as my Bengals at 3-5? Must be the offense right? But you picked up Clinton Portis this offseason. Ahh...it's the QB isn't it, or should I say the lack of? Now matter how good your "D" is, you still must have a decent one to make the playoffs, don't you think? Then again the NFC IS wide open still, so maybe 7-9 will get you a spot.

That won't work in the AFC. Freakin' Pats and Steelers are making sure of that! Anyway just wanted to say good luck tomorrow. You probably won't need it. Road games to the Bengals are what Kryptonite was to Superman! They haven't won one in over a year! Un-freakin'-real, ain't it?I'd like to see Cincy win this one, but I'm a realist. Until they win a road game again, I can't very well pick them with any confidence now can I? I say Washington wins this: 21-13
