Ok, then, so if something wasn't against the rules at the time, can it still be considered dirty? And to what extent? The hit by Arrington on Aikman (which is what I think this line of discussion is still about), was within let letter of the rules and was within the spirit of the game, IMO. I don't see how it can be dirty. And Aikman, who may not remember the incident itself, has seen it on tape, and stated he LIKES seeing it. He made no mention of it being dirty. At least not that I have heard. You can't say that any time a player gets a concusion it's dirty, then you'd have to penalize Gus Frerrote for unsportsmanlike conduct against himself! LOL

It was against the rules but never enforced like it is today even your self has to admitt

they go a little over board over protecting the quaterback?

I'm not saying that QB's shouldn't be protected they should but what the league needs to enforce is that when the ball

Is out of the QB's hands he shouldn't be touched at all incidental contact ok but I have seen players not care and
lay some nasty hits on the QB

He was known for a nasty hit or two, but more known for his disregard for the fans. He was disciplined more than once for flippin' the bird at the crowd.

My vote goes to Andre "Dirty" Waters. I hated that guy. As far as the last person I can remember being called for piling on.....Arrington . A couple of years ago he ran up to an existing pile and did a swan dive on the top and drew a flag.

Personally, I think what Lynch did should be defensive delay of game. They typically only call it if you take to long to get back on your side of the line of scrimmage, but laying on someone after they are already down for the sole purpose of wasting clock is ridiculous.

As far as Aikman, there was no flag and no fine from the league, so it was not a dirty hit.
