E07 glad you're happy with the trade.
You've trolled around here long enough to know that we to are happy with the trade.
But
The trade wasn't about who was the better player (can't be gauged 1 plays offense 1 plays defense and wishes he could play offense.
The question really is what effect does each player have on there new team...
Lets look at Portis :?:

He gives the team the breakaway back that was lacking last year and a focal point for the Joe Gibbs offense. This was much needed.
But what did it cost the TEAM :hmm:
Champ Bailey (a shutdown CB and a draft pick)
Can you really say this was cost Champ was out of here anyway everyone and their mother knew it,hence the draft pick, champ was replaced by (1)Shawn Springs (everyone says he use tobe a shoutdown CB, but now no one throws his way  I wonder why) and (2) A more aggressive Fred Smoot who's out to show the world that the exit of Champ didn't mean a thing.
I see why Skins fans are happy with this trade

Now let's look at Bailey and the draft pick :!:

He gives the Broncos the shutdown corner that they craved unless he gets beat (then it's "he got tripped or the D-line didn't get to the QB or he hasn't got use to the oxygen)..and  just to be safe let's pick Lynch just
in case... See below for the draft pick since it was used to help replace CP
Now what did this cost the Broncs :-k
Clinton Portis a 1500 yard a year pro bowl back...I know I know all the Portis haters will say it's the system, but even if it were the system it cost them a back that knew the system (see last weeks CP stats from last week for someone still learning a system) but can you call this a cost :hmm: they still have Mike Anderson who knows the system  opps he got hurt didn't he....doesn't matter anyway they got a draft pick and used it on 5-11 213lb Tatum Bell who has a whopping 57 yards thru 6 games this year I mean 5 (he didnt play in 1 game) and they also have Quinton Griffin another big time (if you listen to the bronc fans) back to replace Portis... he's got 311 yards thru 6 ..check that 5 games.
Mr Portis has 593 yards thru 6 yes I said 6 games this year (atleast somebody can be counted on to be ready each week)
I'll have to conclude that Denver lost consistancy and production with this trade.
Notice I didn't mention Droughns in this post  ...he's a fullback play halfback because the DON'T have a replacement for Mr. Portis and I didn't want to rub it in, but for the record he's played in all 6 games and has more yards than Bell and Griffin combined :hmm: wonder what they could have done with Droughns AND Portis.

Champ you still the Man
