that is a pretty ridiculous question... if you post even 1 message on these boards, then you are a fan. just cause someone questions how they are playing, doesnt mean they have jumped ship.. calm down and let's see what happens...
but i will agree with you on one thing TCWEST... it is a complete travesty for Monk not to be in canton yet.

Hmmm, born in 74...conceived in 73...so I've been a fan since '73. And Patjam...didn't anyone ever teach you that there is no such thing as a ridiculous question?

My name is Jock Allpress. Anyone who knows me is aware of where my loyalty lies.
I'm a naturalized US citizen. I chose to be a citizen of this great country, but there was no choice involved in being a Redskins fan. I love my country and I love my team.
ps GF, enjoy it while you can, we're going to be there soon.

Please post your name here by responding to this thread.
No qualifying. None of this, "I'm a Redskins fan, but..."
Who's who here ? Who is still a dyed-in-the-wool, do or die Washington Redskins Fan ?
In January, everybody was a long time fan. Win or lose, we all said.
How about now ?
Gut-check time, people. Are you in or out ?
Put TCWest right there on the list. This is my team, and Gibbs is my coach.
My name is Welch, and I've been a Redskins fan since Eddie Lebaron was QB. I felt honored to shake hands with Vince Promuto, an OG who spoke at our Lewisdale Boys Club awards dinner in the early '60s, when the Redskins usually won 2 games a year.
Joe Khuharich was the coach when I was a kid. George Allen was great and bizarre. Joe Gibbs is the best coach the Redskins have ever had. What luck that he can be my favorite team's coach twice!

Who the hell are you and how long have you been a fan.
Time to take a chill pill, bro. If it's such an ignorant question, why justify its legitimacy by posting how long you've been a fan? Further, you ask him how long he's been a fan....if it's an ignorant question, you've just proven your own ignorance by asking the very question you condemn.

I´m 25 and since superbowl XVII when the redskins beat the dolphins 27-17 I´ve been a huge huge redskins fan, my father was at that superbowl and her brought me a reddskins flag that says Washington Redskins 1983 NFC champions, I remember perfectly the superbowl vs the broncos, we were down 10-0 and then we scored 35 points in the second quarter to win 42-10, the vs the bills we still had the possee (Monk, Clark and Sanders) and we won 37-24, for the last five years I´ve been to a redskins game, because I live in Mexico I have latindirectv and I´m able to watc all the games. I have a redskins professional helmet since 1989, a jacket, windbraker, 3 hats, a redskins paint that my girlfrind made for me, wallet (this I bought it when I was a kid), a mini helmet, 2tishirts, Rypiens, Bailey´s and Ramsey´s jerseys, a clock watch for my room etc.
I love the skins and I do hope we can start turning things around.

BossHog wrote:... and GF... I think this year's success may be going to your head a little. I could quote some of your own message board's reactions to losing the NFC Championship... 'dump Mcnabb', 'dump Reid', 'we suck'... but why bother?
it's a fan's right to be fickle... or not.
But don't try to paint this as a Redskin-fan-based issue. Sure it's all green in Philly land right now but I'm near positive that the reason you STARTED coming here was to get away from the fickle nature of your own fan-base occasionally.
... in fact, I seem to remember Philly fans wanted to dump McNabb after TWO games in 2003... TWO bad games and you had a revolution. When I went to your board for the first game last year...
I was the only one saying good things about Reid and McNabb... your board was pining for them to be axed... but you went on to the NFC Championship and the fan base was content again.
... until they kacked again.
I'm not addressing you personally...
But somehow you're of the impression that only Skins fans are fickle.

I think you missed my point. It's not about being upset and complaining about your team. It's about being upset and complaing about
each other. Come on, tell me how this thread isn't a flimsy cover for saying "I'm a better fan than you."

That is not at all what it is GF. I know TC and this is his way of trying to wake up the fans who are complaining. He's trying to snap them out of the "this sucks" mind frame and get them back to remembering why they are here at all. I think it was a good thing!

GF, I think you're the one that's missed the point. This thread, in my opinion, isn't about who's a better fan than the other. It's merely an attempt to weed out the fair weather fans from the real ones. Every team has the bandwagon fans, and the Redskins and Eagles are no different. I think this post is simply a chance for those that are not bandwagon fans to let the rest of the board know it. Conversely, it's also a chance for bandwagon fans to either confirm or deny their status. Simple as that!!!

Ain't it funny to have a "stupid" thread go for four pages and counting... :0)
Fan since '70, only cause that's are far back as I can remember. Larry Brown, Charlie Haraway, Charley Taylor, Ken Houston, Pat Fisher...the Skins are in my blood. My Ma, Dad, Bro - we're all fans til the end bubba. But I do have the right to vent when it looks like we've stunk it up. Without high expectations - we'll never win. This group of fans is more loyal than any other. The only group more beat up than us are the Bills fans. Heck, we study the draft, waiver wire, scout other teams... anything to get an edge. Anyone that wants to vent - fine with me. Just don't post something like - I hate the Redskins and will never be a fan again... go to a Cowboy site for that... then go to another site next week :0)

I am in of course. I read all of these posts from "fans" that second guess Joe G. I guess many are too young to remember the first go around. I'm forty, and have been watching them for at least 32 years now. Haven't left in all of this time, and I'm certainly not going anywhere now.
Think about the QB situation. If Gibbs is thinking about a QB change, this week would not be the week to do it. Play your hand out with Brunell this week, then you have two weeks to get Ramsey, Hasselbeck, or whoever reps while making the decision. If you go with Ramsey now, you alienate Brunell, and possibly also send a signal to the rest of the squad that the season's over, and "we're just going to play out the string". I heard Doc Walker say something that I thought made sense. Whatever you do right now, Gibbs can't lose the confidence of that defense. If you lose them, then you have lost the season for sure.

Just because you've all been a fan for 349 years doesn't make you a better fan than others. I was a mere child when Gibbs when winning superbowls, but I am just as much a diehard as any other. I will never EVER be negative towards the Redskins. They are my team.
I love this post TC. There is so much fair weather fan talk at this site, it almost made me stop posting. I know there are great fans on this site, many have beneficial information. Please don't knock Gibbs, a HOF coach!!!! He knows what he is doing.

I wasn't around during the glory years. I've been a fan since Norv, Marty, Terry, and SS. I've endured the lowest times this team have been through without ever seeing the pinnacle. I survived it, Im still here. Just because I complain a lot doesn't mean jack. I know Im a fan, I know Im in for the long haul.

I have been a fan since 1988. That does not seem long does it. Now consider the fact that I was born in 1988.
I am dead serios. My grandfather is from north carolina. There were no panthers then only the skinz. He turned my dad into one who turned me into one.
I've still got the baby pictures in Burgandy and Gold to prove it.
Think about it. An body who is still a fan that has not even had the oppurtunity to go through the good times has to be a die-hard fan.
The name reads SkinFan 0-16 or 16-0. And I mean it.
PS Great Thread TC. Maybe one should be made for a fairweather fans list.

I'm Ross Haine, and I am a Redskinaholic. Have been since about 1975, when I was four years old. I wish I could say I've been a fan since Eddie LeBarron was QB, but that was before my time. I've lived and died Redskins football, and as a friend of mine once told me, I've "done a lot of dyin' recently." Anybody that cheers for the Skins and belongs to the Hogs.net certainly qualifies as a true fan of the team. No matter how old or young, and no matter whether they criticize the players/coaches/management/ownership, for a poor performance, or whether they never say anything negative about the team.

Exactly, we've had it worse than 90% of the rest of yall!!! You're 4 years younger than me though. I was still a bit young to remeber the 92 Super Bowl.

Hell yes I'm DieHard.
GF: Please highlight the section of this discussion where it says "respond to this thread if you are better than the average fan". Until then, your criticism has no validity. You're putting words in people's mouths. Your opinion has no bearing on intent. It is my intention (and, I imagine, that of my fellow posters) to express my love for the Skins.
This is nothing more than a loyalty count. A little facist? Perhaps, but football ain't democracy.

Count me in....but keep in mind to have a team you need all the players playing together. We have half a team. This is why everyone is complaining. For years now we either had a defense or and offense but we've had trouble putting it all together. We have one side busting their asses and the other side taking sleeping pills. someone needs to light a fire under the offenses butt right now and wake it up and get it excited. They lumber on the field and off starting with Brunell. He always looks like he's wondering how they will screw up the next play. START BELIVING IN THE SYSTEM. SHOW SOME ENERGY. GET EXCITED. They were for Tampa.

I haven't had the pleasure of watching the Skins as most people on this site have, but I hope to tell the same kinds of stories one day. Count me in for this every game this season and every single season from here on out. I want to be an optimistic fan, it's the only way to go, in my opinion.
