Well I just hope this doesn't stop our momentum. Now we need a touchdown by our defense. I'm calling for an INT here.

CP... one touch... one TD... one highlight.

Boy, BH, am I glad to see you post this. I sat there watching that run and I was leaking like the d*mn water works.

I said to myself, why am I welling up over a relatively unimportant football game?

Because JOE GIBBS IS BACK!!!!! :hail:

Talk about a fired up team. I'm listening to a radio feed (I can't watch the game :( ), and you can barely hear the announcers over the crowd.

When our offense doesn't quite get it done, the defense steps in.

God we are looking good eh? In case any of you missed it, both Collinsworth and Aikman, yes Aikman said in the pregame that washington is gonna surprise some people and have the ability to win the NFC.

Just thought I'd mention it ;-)

Scottskins wrote:yeah, he broke it back to the opposite side and it was wide open. The vaunted Tampa defense didn't hold their positions and Portis with his excellent field vision made them pay =)

Randy Thomas and Kenyatta Jones had excellent blocks. Thomas' was sustained to perfection and Jones picked off the linebacker.

yeah, the OLine is looking really really good. Buges is the chit. And they aren't holding Cooley in to block as much as I woulda thought either. Imagine how good they would be with Jansen =)

Lucky that long ball to Cooley wasn't picked off though. double covered and underthrown...

yup, horrible spot. Wonder if Gibbs knows he coulda challenged that. His consultant may have told him it wasn't conclusive though. Ahh well, a field goal is alright in my book.

I woulda gone for that! Heavy Jumbo, 50-gut.

I think Gibbs would have gone for it had Rock been active.

Just after the end of the first quarter, 10-0 'Skins!!!!!!! Oh, MAN, am I STOKED!!!!! I didn't know that Fox was broadcasting it on the local station (Philthydelphia area), I was out looking for a new hat for later in the week, and I got a call that said Portis had just busted a 50 yarder to score. Heck with the hat, headed home, grabbed a shower during a commercial, my wife thought I was being sick because I was laughing and singing in the shower about Gibbs being back on the sideline and all being right in the universe, she thought the chemo was getting to me, was relieved, if amused, to hear that I was just happy!!! And the refs gave Brunell a lousy spot on his run, but hey, it's still 10-0 Redskins, and Galloway just dropped one in the end zone!

Only thing that's gonna stink is that I have to go to work before the end of the game, but I haven't been this amped about a game since, well, since Joe Gibbs was the head coach!!!
